We have a few members who are current with USP Beaumont. My information is a couple years old...not the best experience.

Try doing a search for Beaumont USP and choose the federal prison forum for the advanced search. You should come up with quite a few threads.

And if you have specific questions...let us know!

boflip...take a look at the following area of PTO. The top thread is titled Prison Cooking...if you scan through it you will find a lot of recipes. There are others through out that area...so you just have to look through it.

I finally got to go to see my son New Year's Eve for the first time since he was there. I hadn't seen him in a year in a half. He had transferred from Pollock, LA. He is in the high security at Beaumont. It is pretty dangerous, and the food is terrible. There isn't any training classes, except maybe one. The list is long to get on it..Also, he said that their library is pitiful.

Anyone wanting to email me please feel free to do so. My son is 25 and has a four year old son. And, yes, the place is dangerous, and the worst there is, so he said.

Do you mean the high or medium or low facility? My son is at the high one in Beaumont. I finally got to make the first visit there to see him after a year. My mother and I really surprised him. Nice for New Year's Eve.

hi i live in beaumont and i am very good friends with the chairman of all the financial services for usp beaumont. here is a little info. usp bmt is a very high security prison and has about 800 inmates that all have sentences of 50 years or more like life sentences or people on death row. there are 4 prisons in the area but the one i am talking about is the federal penitintiary. it holds the worst of the worst criminals in america. the 2 main gangs there are the arien brotherhood and the mexican mafia. the other day they got a metal detector for finding shanks and they found 57 shanks in the ground on one run in a very small yard. it is a very disgusting prison and a big problem there is that the inmates that have aids will save there pee and throw it on the guards on a daily basis. this is a very dirty prison filled with americas worst. i dont know if this is the penitintiary yall are talking about but i jsut figured i would give you a little info about it. americas worst have been through the usp beaumont including tim mcvay who was a domestic terrorist that killed approximately 161 when he blew up a federal building in OK city. you may wonder how i know this but the guy i am good friends with is one of the top guys at usp beaumont and buys everything that the prison needs for anything for example the hurricane (ike) that is about to hit. he bought all the supplies and everything to last for weeks. just a little info i thought i would share

:angry:My son is in USP Beaumont. He is not the worse of the worse! He is a human being and no part of any gang! He will be released on 11/20/08. His sentence was 5 years. he says everything is up now. That they brought a busload of 400 or something
of that nature. He's supposed to call me today again so if there's anything specific you need information on tell me so I can go ahead and ask him.

My son was part of those bus loads of people that were dumped off in Beaumont at the Medium facility.
I would be glad to hear what that place is like. Thank you

My father was also part of the bus load. I would appreciate any info.
