so i will be going to visit my guy in joyceville sometime in the next month or two:D and ive never been there so im not sure what to expect. i was sent an information package from joyceville this week, but it doesnt really say much about the process of actually getting in. do they have a drug dog? do they do the ion scan? when aaron was in warkworth it was really simple, sign in, they wave the hand held scanner over you, and you walk through a metal detector, so im wondering if its the same process at joyceville since its also a medium. if anyone has any info, id greatly appreciate it!

When you visit at Joyceville they do the ion scan, you walk throught the metal detector, they do the hand held scan and sometimes they bring the dog as well. You are allowed to bring in change which I keep in a baggie for the vending machines. You can get a real long visit...on Saturdays and Sundays the visiitng is from 9-3. Make sure you get there before 11:30 think it is or else they do counts and you can't get in until after 1,

The visiting room is chairs and coffee tables, they have a kids play area and last time I was there they had a lady doing crafts with the kids.. which is a super thing for them to do... the dads take the crafts and put it up in their cell. You can go outside and they have tables out there.

Hi Ashley. Glad to hear that Aaron finally made it to Joyceville. I hope that u will be able to see him soon. I know several women who visit Joyceville every weekend and they tell me that the procedure is pretty much the same as at Bath with the ion scanner, the dog and the metal detector.

I girls I am going to Pittsburg to see my husband around they 8 and 9 december it is a minimum détention it is close to joyceville anyone knowa anithing about this place please let me know thanks alot.

Aaron's girl - I've been to the visits on Wednesdays and Thursdays (12:30-8:30). The drug dog was there during those times. Every time I've been there on the weekend there has been no dog. My kids love the dog, its a beautiful German Sheppard named Lister. The ION scanner is always used. The 12:30-8:30 visits are nice, there are not very many people there. I took my kids and we had the whole visit room to ourselves for the whole day. It was so nice to not have to worry about how loud the kids were. I was just there Saturday December 2nd. There was a social (I didn't go) so the waiting room (before you go in for visits) was packed. I'm not sure if you have children or not but, they don't let you bring in the diaper bag anymore, you have to leave it with the guard behind the glass.
