I am aware that you were able to send clothing package in September. My honey got to Easterling too late to get the information/package. What can I do to make sure he has what he needs for the winter? When is the next clothing package month? And do you send them yourself?...He is at Easterling!

We were able to send them ourselves, but after what happened with the ones sent to Limestone this fall (major attempt at drug smuggling) I suspect they may no longer have the outside package program anywhere in ADOC anymore.

If they do, however, there won't be another opportunity for clothing/hygiene package until spring. The next package is Christmas and it's food only, bought thru a contractor with ADOC. Sorry...

You mean at the prison store? To be honest, I really don't know what they have to offer regarding such things as sweatpants, thermal underwear, toboggans, etc. - since ADOC has always had the outside incentive boxes, mine has never had to see if the store had such items. I would expect they may have some but not all - he'll have to check.

All ADOC inmates are issued a winter/jacket coat each winter, he should be getting that before too long if he doesn't have it already.

We don't know because it's never happened before. Alabama has always had the sent-from-outside clothing/hygiene incentive packages. What I was saying is that will probably be a thing of the past now because of what happened and Limestone, and that ADOC will PROBABLY contract with some company much like they do with the food boxes, but I don't know that they will or that that will even happen. It's just a guess about the future due to what just happened at Limestone.

And like I said I have no idea whether the prison stores sell any of the items that are generally on the clothing box list, except I'm pretty sure they probably sell socks, underwear, and towels of some sort.

Hey, I realize this thread is kinda old, but I was informed that they are going to allow the incentive package program to be continued, so has anyone heard about when the dates are in March for the packages to be mailed? I have about a week-long communication lag, and I know there is only a small window of time in which to mail those, so I don't want to miss the deadline!

I have been asking my guy about when they next time will come up ... i wuld love to be able to send him some stuff.. he said he hasn't heard anything about the next time as of yet.( that was the last week in FEB) so i'm not sure.. but i too would like to know.. if anyone has heard.

Well, my hubby was saying he has heard that they can get the incentive packages but it will be sometime in April, 1st part of May..

Don't you love how it seems like each inmate is given completely different information? It sucks. To me, it doesn't seem so damn difficult to just put out one statement at the beginning of the year that says that package dates are from day x to day y in these months. UGH! Those people frustrate me.

yeah i know... but you know how they are... rules change at the spur of the moment.. and for no reason... they cant do ANYthing that makes any good sence it dont seem like.
