Has anyone tried to mail a journal to an inmate? I sent one that didn't have metal coils or anything like that on it. It was a soft cover one where I could send refills to him if needed. It kind of resembled a paperback book or small bible. I mailed it Tuesday of last week but he hasn't received it yet. Do they send items back to you if they aren't allowed or throw them away?
Thanks.

They should send it back. The journal would be considered a gift rather than a book.

I sent something similiar once- a calendar through barnes and nobles that did not have any coils, etc. That was the one rare time something was returned to me rather then just trashed. They actually took my address off the billing address from the invoice.

They sent it back. I'm glad it didn't get thrown away. Thanks.

I once had a hardback artist's drawing journal sent from a bookstore (didn't send it myself) and it got to my husband. He wrote the story of his life in it for our son, illustrated it and sent it back. Maybe we were just lucky. Z.

I might try to send a hardback one directly from Barnes and Noble.
Thanks.
