My wife has just been transferred sometime in the past couple of days from the Woodman Unit in Gatesville to the Murray Unit in Gatesville. She was doing okay at the Woodman Unit but I know this move to the Murray Unit has got her scared to death. Any information on this unit would be greatly appreciated. I will be there to see her at 8:00 Saturday morning.
Her 90 days in TDC will be on Oct. 20th, one week after I visit. Do y'all think that I might get a contact visit for the first time since she has been in TDC since her 90 days is so close? Is this unit better or worse than Woodman. I believe that she is G-1 staus, minimum custody, correct?
Is it close to Woodman? mapquest does not give a good direction to the unit. I am coming in from Terrell, in the Dallas area, and am planning to go as I did to Woodman.
She has medical issues, bad arthritis, that I am concerned about as well.
Any info would be greatly appreciated by myself and her family.
Please respond via private message if possible to make sure that I do not miss a reply
Thanks,
Frank

Hi all, I'm new here. I'm James and I just recently found a very old good friend of mine is in TDCJ and she's at the Murray unit.
I'm waiting on a letter back from her, we are talking about her possibly trying to parole out here to Missouri if she gets approved in 2011 but I'll ask her about the unit in my next letter.
I'm new to this part of things so I may have a lot of questions for everyone.

My wife was at Lane Murray. I have been there many times so I can probably answer questions that you may have about the place. My wife is home now and can answer questions as well. Please let us know if we can help.

What do you want to know? I've been traveling to Lane Murray once a month from Pennsylvania for over 2-1/2 years. My wife's been in Ad Seg, Medium and Minimum custody. She's now in a Trustee dorm. I don't know how one unit compares to another. I mean c'mon it's prison. How different can they be?

My sister is at this facility and she says they treat her bad. She said they get a write up if they arent on time with their strikes on the Hoe Squad. Everyone has to be at the same rythm and all that. She had also hurt her ankle and they told her she still had to work. From the sound of it, they are very non carring. Anyone have similar problems?

My inmate got beat down hard enough to go to PC and SHE got the case for not snitching. The letter I would like to send to the warden there would not be a pleasant one:angry:.

I know two inmates sent from Crain to Murray. Somenbody more familiar with TDCJ told that it is a bad thing.
