Some of you know that I haven't heard from Darrell in a month and that I was really worried about him. I had found that he moved to USP in Terre Haute, IN. So I wrote him 2 letters there, but haven't received a reply yet.So I called his mom yesterday, we've been talking for a half hour. My baby boy is doing just fine !!!! :D he's even doing better then I thought!! He called his mom the day before yesterday. He just started school that day, should be able to get his GED in about 4 months, and he got a job!!!! In the leather shop, to make wallets and pocketbooks and all that. the only thing is that he has to buy his own tools so his mom is gonna send him some money so he can buy them. You should see the smile on my face right now!!! It's such a relief to hear that he's doing just fine. And he told his mom the food is much better, that he forgot how good food can taste :)
now I have to start arranging my visit to him. I'm so happy and reliefed. :D :D

yeah, soraya! i am so glad to hear that darrell is a-ok. it sounds as though the facility he has been transferred to has a lot of programs for the guys, which is a wonderful thing. *big hugs*

april, I can't really describe how happy this news made me. he's in a fed. prison now. they aren't allowed to just sit around and do nothing. either they go to school or they work. and darrell is doing both right now. he's been telling me for so long that he wanted to go to school, so I know that makes him happy. and if he goes back to court, it'll show that he's actually trying to do something with his life. before he went to prison, he could read nor write, he tought himself that, and now he's getting hsi ged. i'm really proud on himQ

Soraya I didn't know that you you hadn't heard from him in a month! That's good that he's doing fine, at least you're give him a chance to get acquanted with the new prison I'm sure he loves you very much and you'll be hearing from him soon!

I am SOO HAPPY :yes: that you got some good news about Darrell girl!! I know you not hearing from him for a month had you about going crazy!! That's also great :yes: that he is going to school & working, it helps to make the days go by faster. Not only that but he can learn a new trade!!
I bet you will hear from him soon if you haven't already & your smile will be that much bigger!!

Yes, that IS great news. I hope Darrell does well in school. Billy started his GED a few months ago. Now is in an art class too. He's so talented.

nothing from Darrell yet, but now that I know he's in school and has a job, I'm not that worried anymore. Those things must keep him very busy! He told his mom it's kinda hard to go back to school after 9 years, but that he won't give up.I'll write him tonight to encourage him a little

So glad to hear your news. With all these new things in Darrells life you'll be getting a book rather than just a letter from him! It's great that you are able to communicate with his mom too. IT IS GREAT THAT YOU TALK TO HIS MOM. IT ALSO MAKES HISM OTHER KNOW YOU REALLY DO CARE ABOUT DARRELL. I KNOW WITH MY FIANCE' I CALL HIS MOM ALL THE TIME. SHE IS IN MISSISSIPPI AND WE GET ON THE PHONE AND ARE ON THE PHONE FOR NO LESS THAN A HALF HOUR. WE ALWAYS END UP TALKING FOR AT LEAST AN HOUR IF NOT MORE. SHE TOLD TYRONE NOT TO MESS THIS ONE UP OR SHE IS AFTER HIM. I AM THE BEST THAT HE HAS EVER HAD. AND SHE LOVES ME TO DEATH. HE IS GLAD THAT WE TALK AND ARE THAT CLOSE. THAT WAY I CAN FILL HIM IN ON WHAT IS GOING ON. BECAUSE HIS MOTHER HAS HEALTH CONDITIONS (MANY)
