My fiance just got transferred to Chukawalla last night, I'm an approved visitor on his list so I can go see him with out filing another form out correct? also, can I go see him as soon as Saturday? I've been calling the prison but no one answers. He just now got mainlined from reception in Donovan so this will be my first contact visit with him since 15months ago...I'm really nervous about all this and would not like things to go wrong once I'm there, any help would be appreciated. I see that there are hardly any threads on Chukawalla Valley State Prison, I hope someone comes along and answers my questions. Good day!

Hi Jay ~ I just visited Chuckawalla for the 1st time last weekend. We drove from Sacramento...it was definately worth it. If you were approved in reception then you are good to go. You do not have to call and make any appointments, just show up. We got there around 6:30am both days and the cars were already lined up outside waiting to enter. We got to see him at about 9am. The visits lasted until about 2:30pm. The CO's were pretty friendly and didn't hassle anyone, at least that I saw.

I've talked to him already and he knows nothing about how visits work there but of course is hoping for me to go....Thank you so much!

last time i heard, they have to be classified before you can actually get contact visits, becasue if they are not classified then it would be behind glass, so you might want to find that out before you go.

hello all I wanted to visit my boyfriend at chuchawalla I dont really know about the prison system.Im not sure if im taking the bus or rent a car my question is if i take the greyhound from los angeles to blythe how do i get to the prison do i take a taxi or a shuttle that can take me there....pls someone help me..and i think my boyfriend is at building b i dont really know what is that..

I don't really know about any shuttles up there, your best bet would be to be prepared to get a taxi from the greyhound just in case they don't have any transportation, again i'm not sure about it maybe someone who knows will tell you better. Building B would be the yard he is in, are you an approved visitor? if so do you plan on visiting soon? PM me if you want...
