By the way Liz, my guy and your hubby happen to be friends.

El- Thanks for starting the October thread. Didn't even realize we were in a new month. :p

Char- Are you hearing the words " I do " in your dreams ??? ;) You're just days away!

Pat- I'm really trying for the weekend before or after Xmas also. But I know we're going to make the long drive to Ione.

Happy October! Just buzzing through on my way to cleaning house. Yuck!

Liz - I haven't seen it that busy since Father's Day. That's what happens when they lay off for 3 weeks. At least we had those 3 weeks of all days. Probably never see it again unless the weather gets real bad. Do you think that art sale brought them out?

Hope you gals are doing swell. Take care.

Teri- It looked like one of our own schools came close to being one of violence. Thank goodness the students at Mojave HS alerted school police. I don't remember having to fear something like this when I was growing up. Times have definitely changed.

I'll keep those families in my thoughts and prayers.

Morning Everyone!! Looks like rain here in Fresno!! This year I am excited about winter coming because that means my husband will be home soon. I am really missing him today. One of our favorite songs came on the radio this morning and I was almost in tears. I am keeping myself busy so that these last few months don't drag. I have something planned for every single weekend in October! Today I am offically in the SEVENTIES..with 79 and a wakeup!! I can't even believe it! This time last year we were waiting for my husband to be sentenced and here we are will less than 3 months to go!!

I hope everyone has a great day!!!

Q: I'm hoping it won't be as crazy this weekend. I'll let you know how things go. Fridays are still the best days.

Mar: When ever you come I'm here for you if you need anything.

Char: Are Wedding Bells ringing in your ear YET????

Loc: How are you angel?

Ant: Where have you been????

Lov: How are you???? Do you need a lighter to burn the books??? Get out of there and let us know you are ok. Miss you!

Hi all, it is over cast and in the 60s here in Missouri. Put Dad in an assited living apartment and he seems to like it alot, he is being spoiled there and he seems to enjoy it. the impotant thing is he is safe and well taken care of! He is only 5 minutes from here, so we can bounce in and out.

I am hoping to get to Mule Creek, after Christmas, not sure we are goign tomake it, it depends on Dad and such. Larry and I cannot both go, so we shall see.

You guys are the best!!

Instead of posting it on this forum, since it was long, I started a new thread with the Prison Overcrowding State of Emergency Proclamation (http://www.prisontalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=229514). Please check it out!

I just didn't want to miss anyone with getting this information out to them. I don't think everyone is on yahoo, so I didn't want anyone to miss out.

I just wanted to let the group know that I have emailed Matt Gray at TIPS to see how SNY inmates will be effected by this emergency transfer proclamation. Because they are SNY inmates, they may not be able to be transferred due to protective custody needs. However, I’m not sure and I’m trying to find out. Just wanted to let you know.

Pat-were you expecing a call and didn't get one? That happened to me last week and my husband said that the phones were not on the sday he was scheduled to call me. Maybe that is what happened for you?

Char-Congrats!! Can't wait for the pixs.

Terri-Any more word on your loved one transferring?

Eliz-My plan is to be there every week starting at Thanksgiving! That is when the real countdown begins. See you this weekend!

Pat & El & Everyone ~ The power was out last week sometime, and that might be why the phones were off and our loved ones were not able to call. When the power goes out, the phone should be turned off as well as the recording device and such do not work. However, sometimes they are not paying attention and the phone are left on, when the phones are not effected by the power outage. And sometimes the power outage also effects the phone. I've never been able to firgure out why it effects them sometimes and not other times. We are starting to get into rain season, so power goes out often at MC. :(

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

El - See you on Sunday. :)

Thanks everyone, yes my call did not come in as was scheduled, since we are working and often work at night, he writes and tells me, when he hopes to call and the call did not come in and the call was over some important family matters. I did receive a letter today and nothing was said, so who knows!! Glad everyone is okay!!

Thanks Everyone for asking!! No I did not get my tamale recipe, but I found one on the net, Tamales for Dummies was the search title, it has a really easy recipe to follow!!

Best to everyone and Thanks again!!

Well ladies, glad you're all doing well. Playing catch up with Queenbeas ...that three hour time difference is a bear! Lots o'drama with the bunny after he cut me off for 6 months. Seems we've gotten all of the snaggs worked out but we'll see. Understandably he was in a deep depression after losing the first appeal, then he was put in the hole for being too familiar with a corrections officer and supposedly introducing contraband into the institution...he's currently in the hole under investigation. So, 9 years and this is the first time in Ad-seg. I have NO idea what it is really all about or how long he'll be in there. I have a paid for plane ticket that has to be used before March and I really don't want to visit through glass. So a new adventure to find out who to talk to and how to get information. Glad to be back, I've always kept up with what's going on through the Yahoo group. So...LOL, your Token Male is back!!!!

Sherri- Before You Know It You Will Be Happily Married Are You Going To Live Out Here When He Comes Home?

Teri- We have been talking about where we want to live when he comes home. We would like to live back in San Diego, but Cali is getting way out of our price range. I'm actually pretty comfortable here in Vegas. And I'm loving the rain we have been getting. Anyway, it looks as if we'll be making Vegas our home.

So any word on the transfer? I'll cross my fingers for you. And I'll even throw in some toes...LOL

Got what might be a stupid question...but they always say there's no such thing.

What are the benefits to being married to your inmate as opposed to unmarried...I mean aside of the emotional and romantic side. Are there other legal benefits...like Family Visits that you have? I'm thinking like being able to get information only available to family members or things like that.

Obviously we can't get married and have a family visit, crapo we can't even hold hands during visits. I'm not an advocate, at least for myself, for the same sex marriage thing and neither is he...I mean I am for it for those who want it, I think it is right and all, just not something for me. HOWEVER, there is the Domestic Partnership Law in California which treats same sex partners the same as if they are married, it just doesn't apply outside of California. I was reading the law yesterday and it states that no state agency may discriminate between married persons and those registered under the domestic partnership law. Therefore, we could (supposedly) sign the Declaration of Domestic Partnership at the prison the same as you ladies can get married. My point is in asking, other than the conjugal visits that we can't have anyway, is there any other benefit? The only one I can think of is being a lawful parent or gardian to his kids to get them in for visits.

Would love to hear what anyone knows.

This transfer thing is interesting...I'm only 280 milse - 4 hours away from the Indiana Prison...I'm not counting on anything, since it would be too good to be true! Guess I have to stick with the 2100 mile plane trip!

I am looking for a good way to make carnitas for the inside, that sounds wonderful to me, I did find a shredded beef and pork recipe for the filling.

So I will give it the ol college try and see if they are any good!! After all that work, they will eat them good or not lololo:D

Pat- I'll be working in a call center doing customer service but I already let them know I want an HR position with the company. So after my probation period they will have me take a series of tests to move into HR. It's not really close to home but on a good day here in Vegas, it would only take me 15 minutes to get to work. My first 4 weeks are training and then I have one week of training in Shepardsville, Kentucky ( I get to pick when I want to go). So I'm definitely going to relax these two weeks because I'm going to be a busy girl. lol

Sherri what is a HR position, I am drawing a blank here?? I like Vegas, I lived in Bullhead City for many years and ran between Bullhead and Vegas a lot, we spent a lot of time in Searchlight and Pahrump (Sp). HOWEVER this was over 26 years ago, and it was nothing like it is now, it was all small time stuff except Vegas. It is funny that we have looked at Vegas as a place to retire when and if we ever get out of here.My husbands former wife is there, she works at one of the casinos, not sure which one..I have a friend who works for the Post office there as well....hugs

Pat- HR is Human Resources. What I really want is a position doing payroll for HR because that's what I use to do in California. But I haven't seen many openings for a payroll position. So the next best thing is to get my foot in the door.

marcellosmama

I HATE payroll, I hate dealing with the taxes reports etc, It is way too much like work, you must be pretty good to enjoy it!! Hope they find you!! Seriously, I really do not like doing any form of bookwork, we use Quick Books so you would think it would be easy but I hate it..BIG time!!

Teri and all; I keep looking at the recipe and all the work and keep justifying to myself why I would not want to do all that work. But I am going to force myself to go to Ottumwa and get the supplies, then I will have no excuse..

Hey I did something by accident that turned out GREAT. I was going to make my dad a Choc Creme pie, I had 2 small packs of instant Devils food pudding (off brand) so I opened them and threw them in the mixing bowl and then found I had NO white milk, I had chocolate tho, so I used chocolate milk, only 2 1/2 cups added 1/2 container of cool whip and spooned it in the store bought Oreo cookie crust, it is fabulous, tastes like chocloate mouse!! yummy, it is Dads new favorite pie!! (How many years before they tell you that they used all the white milk?).

Pat- Working with numbers kinda runs in my blood. My dad was an accountant and my younger sister is studying to become one as well. I planned on becoming one but I started my family first. ;) So I really like doing payroll. As far as the casinos, I try to avoid working in one. Since I lived here, I rarely go into the casinos and I try to stay away from the strip. I love going to Lake Mead though and dummy me, I didn't realize that I live only minutes away.

Teri- Thanks. Part of the problem is most payroll jobs out here want 3-5 yrs of exp. I only did payroll for a year in CA. So starting from the bottom might be the way to go for now.:p

Speaking of cooking and baking ladies....it must be that time of year because I've done nothing but bake all kinds of goodies for the little ones. The treat of the week is White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies which they have been eating up. :D I know, I know... I should cut off the sweets now since Halloween is coming. They'll be hyper until New Years!! LOL:rolleyes:

Hey, girls, I'm just cruising through before I set up the work computer to say hi. Hope all is well.

Loca - toots, did they at least move your baby out of the penthouse pending all this? I am so sorry this is taking so long. I hope you have virus protection for your computer. Mine is so good I can't even get e-mail half the time! Holler if you want the name. Not too expensive either, about $50.

Lizzie - sorry to hear you're not feeling well yet again. I hope you feel better soon.

Col - hey, babe! So good to see you again. Real upset to hear that you were down for a bit and didn't reach out. Ya know I'm here for you. Congrats on finally getting a vehicle. That surely has to be a weight off your shoulders. God bless and ping (IM) me anytime.

Take care, kids.

Hi all....Wow this thread is busy tonight!!

Charlie'sGirl
10-12-2006, 10:49 PM
the thing is that his baby's mom was a minor when she got pregnant, she told my husband that she was 18 and she was really 14. trust me she looked about 20 with all the make up and drugs she was on, anyways they got him for that in like 99 or 2000, but he was out in 10 days after, so i guess that she dropped the charges or something, well his parole agent never told him that he was registered as a sex offener after that, and never told him that he wasnt allowed to be around minors or even his own kids, they went to our house and did a "parole sweep" which i have no idea what that is, and they have him on " parole hold" again no idea what that is. I talked to him around 5 or so and he told me that he has no new charges so thats good, but they violated him for having pictures of his kids in the house and for seeing them, he spoke to a lawyer and they told him that, he can get 30 days or if none, and if the give him time, it will be less then a year. So i havent slept and i havent ate cause i dont feel hungry, i just want to cry and sleep. i couldnt sleep last night and what hurts the most is that tomorrow is one week of us being married! and every time i think of a moment we spent i just want to cry, ive been tryin not to cry all day but i cant, cause i just want my new husband to be there with me.

so all i ask of you guys is your prayers for him to get no time or just 30days, and im trying to be strong for him and myself but i just cant hold myself up and i just break down cry.

just wanted to let you girls know that, im officially in hell right now!

Teri; Yes, he is doing well and we are thrilled, FORTUNATELY he is in a financial position that he can afford to live there. He has been very frugal his entire life. He is one of the good guys!

Liz; How goes the headaches. gosh I hope they are still gone, my son is a new person without his!! The other key is he MUST get enough full on sleep...not rest.. sleep, are you getting enough sleep?? I know being a parent, working and holding down the fort makes a full 8 plus hours tough!! Hope you are okay!!

Charlies Girl; Good luck you are in my thoughts, keep us posted...

Loc: How is your daughters pooh bear?? Did it turn out okay?? How is the computer?? What anti virus do you use??

Sherri: Where are you? Is all set for the new positions??

Col: Glad to hear your car situation is better, that is so tough, dealing with car problems!! How is everything else going??

Q: There are a lot of nice new people on here, come see us!!

Rodg; Never had the opportunity to visit with you as I came on right after you stopped posting...glad you are back. I remember reading about Antiques, do you do antique pottery as well or just wood?? WE are looking to market an entire collection of Hull Pottery that is my Father in laws. It is all Ewers and baskets mostly, few pieces of novelty, mostly top styles. If not, do you know who we could contact about all of these pieces??? Thanks so much!

Marta a parole sweep is when the police go thru and check up on parolees. They come to your house unannouced and make sure that they are following thier parole conditions. They can do this at anytime it is the price of parole. From what I hear they offer any one who violates parole a year but that most never get that. So he shouldn't accept that! I hope that he only gets the 30 days!!
Oh and don't listen to negative people all they want is to make you as miserable as they are. Kept your head up and dont let anyone get you down.

marcellos~

I deal in victorian glass, porcelain, sterling, tableware, marble, bronze and yes pottery. When I saw "Hull" I cringed, but the ewers and baskets do bring good money. The best way to get top dollar is to buy a Schroeder's Guide to Antiques, big paperback that is updated anually, it is a general price guide. In the back you'll see who the contributing "Expert" is for Hull pottery. You can contact them and they can give you good direction. Ohio is kind of Pottery Valley so the market here isn't as strong as it would be in the west. Hope that helps.

Rodg; Thanks, appreciate the help!! We are in Missouri so it is cheap here, however, they bought most of this eons ago, so it is the hard to get patterns etc..hopefully he can make a few bucks on it!!

You are in Ohio? We are in Missouri and spend time in Pataskaloosa (I think it is its near Columbus), our favorite Uncle lives there.

Hope all is going great for you and yours!! and thanks for the help!!

Marcellosmama!

Well Pat, I've had great luck with hard to find patterns, good shapes and sizes with Hull on Ebay. As far as Pataskaloosa, OH  NEVER HEARD OF IT! I grew up in Springfield, only 45 miles from Columbus. I'm in Shaker Heights which is an east burb of Cleveland. Long trips to MCSP! I'll talk to some dealer friends that deal in pottery, I've got some friends that have written books on different manufacturers of pottery and I'll check with them but most dealers I know aren't buying much because of the economy and the state of show. A good many of the really big shows have just completely shut down due to the decline in attendance.

Glad to hear you had a good time, I am hoping that in December of January I can spend some one on one with KC so I can ask him some questions, I would love to have the answer too...I did not ask him when our son (GS) and my husband was there as I felt he would be uncomfortable about it...Once again, glad you had a special time!

Rodg; how weird is this, our Uncle from Ohio, called today and they will be here to see my father in law on Thursday and stay over thru Saturday, I remember driving thru Columbus, it seemed forever, but I think was about 1/2 hour or so past Columbus and then took several out in the country turns..It is a wonderful rural community, my uncle lives on about 20 acres or so..

marcellosmama
10-15-2006, 11:07 PM
Rodg, wow I thought Missouri was far from MCSP!! You are much further out than even I am!! MY husbands mom and Dad collected Hull for many many years, they have a ton of it, mostly bow knot...of course a lot of magnolia..I will go look on ebay and see, the last time I looked there was hundreds of pieces on there...I really would be concerned about shipping it...it is so fragile when bumped, chips are so easy with this stuff. They packed it all in bubble wrap and put it in the attic..about 7 years ago!! What is your weather doing there now?? Did you get any of the eastern snow storm?? We have had a few 20s here..but today was nice about 60 high low 30ish.
Best!!

Morning Everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend.

My honey called me Saturday night and it was such good timing.:D My brother's wife called me right before and they are offering their house to me RENT FREE. They live in Colorado Springs and just had a new house built and they don't want to sell their old house or rent it to someone they don't know. So I'm trying to weigh the pros and cons. The obvious PRO would be not having to pay rent and that would be a great weight off my shoulder because I have so many debts that I have been wanting to pay off. Oh decisions-decisions....   Anyway, I did speak to my fiance about it and he is fine with whatever decision I make. The distance wouldn't matter much because I'm not able to visit him that often, maybe once or twice a year as it is. I know my bro and his wife have put some thought into it, my sis-in-law already has a job for me and said she'd watch the kids for free since she stays at home with their son. Oh what to do, what to do..... :hmm:

Teri- It is a great deal! I am leaning towards making the move. I have two brothers that live in Colorado Springs and it would be nice to live near them for a change. (There's 9 of us  ). My sis-in-law has a friend who will hire me or my bro will help me get a job where he works. Of course being a surfer on the net I already looked into the job market there. It won't be until January/February if I do move. They are still getting their new house just the way they want it and then they have a few things to do with the old house before I move in. But just in case someone or something changes- I won't be packing just yet. :p

:help: I'm so frustrated tonight. I hate to gripe about this but you all have been so supportive since I joined the group...so please bare with me while I vent. I have four kids from a previous marriage and the a** had molested my oldest daughter (her dad is the one at MCSP). My daughter had confided in her dad about 2 years ago and their was an investigation and evidence was found but Vegas police wouldn't arrest the SOB because it happened in California. So far her dad and I have been giving the detective my ex's address and place of employment ( he now lives in Arizona ) but still has not been arrested. So now the jerk thinks he's never going to get put behind bars and is telling me he has rights to see his kids. Up until now I never got a restraining order but it looks as if I need to. I'm so worried he and his family will try to pull some crap with me and try to take the kids. I just hate conflict and don't deal well with confrontation. I mean when I found out what had happened to my daughter, I fell apart. And just when I'm finally getting my life back together, he comes around and starts some crap. I need to stop being afraid of him and file that restraining order first thing Tuesday morning.

Thanks everyone for putting up with my "moment". I just needed to vent....sorry.

Sherri; not sure, but a friend of mine went to the courthouse and got an ex parte order of protection for her daughter, she got it filed and he could not come near them until they went to court and then the judge ordered him to stay away forever and it was over similar things, but this is Missouri and I am not sure what you have there..Good luck and vent as Teri said, that is what this board is for!!! You and yours are in my thoughts!! Sorry you are having to deal with all this!!

10-17-2006, 01:29 PM
Teri and Pat- Thanks for the support ladies. To answer your question Teri, no he doesn't know I'm planning on moving and I actually planned on keeping it that way. I did call the detective handling the case in CA, but he is still waiting on the D.A. to issue the arrest warrant. I don't understand why it takes so long when an obvious crime was committed and against a child- my child. He even admitted to doing it. I also filed the restraining order which I should have done months ago. But you know the saying "keep your friends close, your enemies closer" I did just that and so my ex has been stupid enough to give me his address in Arizona and he also gave me his bank account info and I was able to go online to find his work information. All the info of course was given to the detective. So they won't have trouble finding him and putting him behind bars. But I wish they would do it soon.

Well, thanks again ladies for the support. I hope you all are doing well. I'll chat with you all later. Have a great day.

Teri & Pat-Thanks again both of you. Heck, I learned the hard way with this guy. He liked to play the mind games and manipulate me but what he doesn't realize is that I'm not going to be his victim anymore. Thanks for the support again, I just really needed to vent more than anything. I know it will come together.

But enough of my drama...
Pat, did you make those tamales yet??? :p
Teri about those cookies.....you know the saying "get 'em while they're hot" ? Well, my kids do.:ha:

Hey Sherri, No.. no tamales yet, I just spoke with Marta and she has really helped me, so maybe soon, at least I know all the things I was going to do wrong and found out why my guacamole tastes crunchy and kinda pasty, do not ask..it is so funny I guess!! I think Martas mama is still on the floor laughing tho!! I did not know, there was a right side and wrong side to the corn husks, and I never cooked my tomatillos, lololo oh man maybe i am biting off more than I can chew lololo..but I really want to do it..

As for the X..just deal with him and it will freak him out, control freaks cannot stand a strong woman!! GO FOR IT! you are doing the right thing!!

Pat- Crunchy guacamole, huh? Okay, I won't ask. :p My brother use to tease me and say I burn water. But I'm still learning my way around the kitchen and I love watching the Food Network. ;)

Liz- So did your husband tell you that he and my fiance spoke on the yard? I guess your husband knows mine by a nickname and before he moved to a different cell. Well, hope things let up in the office. Take care.

I hope everyone else is doing well. Some of you are MIA so I hope everything is okay. Have a great day everyone! :)

E: wow good luck at the new Job!! I get so fretful at changes, I love the challenge, but hate swimming in oatmeal feeling I get when it is all so new to me!! GOOD LUCK!
Sherri: I put raw uncooked tomatillos in my guac and could not understand why they do not taste like my friends does..duhh, that is why Marta's mom is cracking up on the floor, she could not believe how dumb I was , they have to be cooked I guess, who knew lololol
Teri; I WISH someone around here even made Tamales, when I lived in California all our friends had moms or aunties who made them and we bought them and they were wonderful..as a kid my brother worked for Food Giant and then Safeway and the other warehouseman's families sold them and he would get us a bunch, yummmm they were such a treat!!
Liz; Glad all is well and busy for you!!
Halloween is coming and we have a deal here that the kids trick or treat around the square where all the businesses are located. We do it from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and it is such fun!! Have about 200 on a quiet year or 300 on a busy year trick or treaters..

Teri- For Halloween, I was thinking of making something for the kids' school but with the new job I might just wait until Thanksgiving. I was thinking for Turkey Day I would make their classmates mini pumpkin pies. That is if I feel like making my life any more hectic LOL :haha:. That's a lot of pies... my guess about 60 pies. Maybe I should stick to cookies. LOL

Hello Ladies:

Today is my friday and let me tell you it hasn't come soon enough. My co worker is a pain and I'm just going to pray for her. I hope she gets a promotion or whatever she need to be happy, because she is raining on my parade. Any way, I'm going to live. LOL

Csher: My love did tell me that your man went up to him. He says it's the strangest thing in the world to have someone go up to you and start talked to you about your wife and their lady. LOL I told him it's a small world. When I first mentioned your man he didn't know who I was talking about. I'm glad he now know who it is.

Char: Keep your head up, everything is going to be ok.

El: What is the count down?????

Pat: I'm glad things are going well for you, I'm still migraine free. Your right though I have noticed that I need my rest or else I start to get them. I'm a little tired today, I think what's for dinner is going to be chinese food. =o) It's been a long day.

Everyone else I hope your all doing well. Your all in my prayers. Talk to you on Monday!!! Have a blessed weekend!

Okay, lately I don't know what the deal is but when it rains it apparently pours! First, my ex starts his crap. Okay fine I can deal no biggie. But remember that job I got? What was it 2-3 weeks ago when I got the thumbs up that I was hired??? Well, I got a call on my cell saying it was an error and that I cannot start on Monday because my supervisors there can't give out refs because of company policy. HELL-O? You think they would know that when they called me and hired me a couple of weeks ago. So now I have no job or I can wait until Nov. 13 to start (of course, still pending my refs check out...ha, ha). I'm telling you I have my own personal full moon or dark cloud following me around. LOL

But I will look at the bright side of this.:) My brother and his wife offered their house RENT FREE in Colorado and even have a job lined up for me. Maybe that's why I didn't get the job. Perhaps God has something else planned for me. If so, I hope it's something good because I could use a break.

Like my sister tells me, I'm starring in my own soap opera! LOL
Oh well, I won't let this break me. Remember, what doesn't kill us makes us stronger.

Have a nice night everyone!

Liz; there is nothing worse than working with someone who rubs you the wrong way or always has a negative attitude...the thing I cannot stand is the one who is always over worked and underpaid and spends her day bitching and not working, and wonders why she is not promoted!! I hope your co worker gets whatever will make her happy, that is a tough and very long 8 to 10 hour day!! Best luck!! Get some good sleep and relax!! Enjoy your weekend Liz!!

Oh Sherri; there is nothing worse than the unknown! Who dropped the ball on the references?? Have you talked to your references and asked if they have been contacted?? Hang in there girl!! Gee-sh when it rains it pours!! Pleaseeeeee it only takes a phone call to verify references, what is the hold up that takes a month, gee-sh ...corporate bureaucracy....It will get better Girl!!

Marta; I cannot imagine that "WHY" anyone would send you nasty IMs, sometimes the written word is misunderstood and appears to be what it is not, hang in there!! If someone posts something I do not like or does not interest me, I move on, no biggie, just move on...It will get better!!

Teri; it is in the mid to low 40s, if the wind blows it is really cold, if not it is tolerable!! I bet Vegas is awesome right now...I am jeaous!!!

Pat- My refs were called, but on company phones and time, they aren't allowed to give out refs on employees. I was a darn good employee and one of their top reps so there isn't any other reason except the supervisors all follow the "leader". That was one thing I couldn't stand about them, they put more effort into keeping the head honchos happy so they can collect their big bonuses. ("Kissing butt" would be the appropriate term.) But when their hard working employees need something forget about it. I spent two years helping them make the "big bucks" and saw less and less of my incentives. That's another reason I left. I worked harder and harder and got less and less. We all did and we all talked about leaving. I just don't believe in staying at a place I'm not happy at.

I'm not worried about not getting this job. Something better was meant to happen, I believe that. It's funny, my older sisters just called me and said the same thing. I'm lucky to have a big and supportive family. I guess I will be taking my brother up on the offer and move to Colorado, but like I said before I won't start packing until I know it's a done deal. I'm learning that nothing is certain. ;)

Morning!! TGIF!! I hope everyone is having a great day so far. Today I am feeling a little more organized. I am loving my new position as I no longer have to deal with tenants. For those of you that don’t know I work in property management and one of my previous responsibilities was to take tenants complaints! That alone makes my day soooo much better! I am a much happier person at the end of the day now.

Pat-40’s that is COLD!!!!! It is is the high 70’s here and I am wearing a sweater !HAHA! LOL!

Sherri- I believe that all things happen for a reason. Like my husband going back to prison for a second time. Nothing but prison was going to stop him from the path he was on and maybe you not getting this job is the sign you needed to make this move.

Terri-have a great time with your family

Char-did you save those PM’s? You should report that person to the administrators of this site.

Liz- Today I am at 62 DAYSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!!

E; Oh man I HATE PROPERTY management, I am not suited for all that people pleasing stress!! You must be an angel to handle that!! WE actually have hired a mgr for the apts cause we cannot deal with the complaints and the tenants, the most complaints we get are tenants being mad at other tenants......not with the property!! We can fix leaky faucets but not tenant tenant problems, accccccccck!! I like what you said to Sherri...that was very well put

Sherri; Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the warmth!! I am not ready for this weather, today was not real bad..low 50s..

Teri; Enjoy the cousins girl!! We have family in as well, but they are currently with other family members, so we will have them again tomorrow...

Marta; well I made it to the Mexican market, we kinda had a slight problem, cause the gal there did not speak much english and of course I am a zero in Spanish, since I went to Catholic school and took worthless latin!! BUTTTTTTTTT we got two large containers of prepared masa, the corn husks and they had a tamale steamer that I bought as well!, it is so neat! I asked for cumin and she gave me baking powder, lololo I think...You did mean cumin RIGHT??? Bought a large boneless pork roast and will get that cooked hopefully Sunday, if all the relatives go home, lolo!! A gentlemen came in who spoke some English, so we asked them if they sold tamales ready made and they said no, only at Christmas time..so I KNOW where I am going then..
Hugs all

Melinda- Welcome to the group! My fiance won't be home for another 18 months. What yard is yours on?

El- Thanks for the kind words. I'm sure the timing of my brother's offer to let me live in his house AND suddenly not getting the job are much more than just a coincidence. But I understand what you are saying about your husband going back the second time. My fiance needed to be in prison in order for him to change paths. It sounds strange but true.

Pat- I hope you enjoy your weekend also. I like the cooler weather. I know it was only in the high 70s here, but I like a bit of cold. Colorado just might suit me then. ;)

Teri- Enjoy your family time this weekend.

Char- I'm with El...if someone is sending you PMs I would let the administrators know. We are here to support each other. Not everyone needs to agree with us but it's still no need to act rude. If you ever need anything or want to chit chat I'm here for ya. Relax this weekend you deserve it.

Everyone else enjoy your weekend/visits. I wish I was visiting :(. It's been 2 months since I saw my guy and it's starting to feel like 2 years. Oh well, throw a shout out to "Sherri's guy" when you ladies visit ;) LOL Just kidding. Have a great weekend.

well girls im praying for all you guys, hope you and your men are doing fine. No worries Melinda, your husband will be home soon, keep the faith.

well i got somewhat good news from Charlie, he wrote me and said that he put in his board papers on the 12th, so they have 10 business days too see him, which the 10th day is the 26 of this month, so next thrusday. however; if they fail to see him within those days, they violate oh their part, and it is by law or by the insititution to have to release him. So im praying and hoping that they dont see him. So that way my baby can come home. I know its hard for you all as well as me, but only god will let us know when we will be truly happy, I wish and pray for you all to be with your men soon. Marta; Kevin just called, he said that at DVI Level one and two are close, he said that it basically means that a level one which he is, he can go outside of the fence the level two you have to stay inside the fence, (he did not explain the legal part, just the social part) he said that they are preparing for a slip n slide race on the level one and two area..Beach cruiser mud races last week...all level one and two, as to what it actually means I have no clue..he said that DVI Level one and Two the guys were out laying in the sun on blankets and they have a volleyball court, tennis court, football and baseball field...he said it is more like camp, Kev is going to the ranch in a week and that is an 8 hours job doing electrical wiring etc. Since he is a general contractor..some guys hold outside jobs...Kev is a level 1. That's all I know it was actually our first call and I was so excited to hear his voice! He is going to try to call me at 5 tonight Calif time, if you have more questions, holler and I will ask him..

Hey Pat and Marta- So glad I'm not alone this weekend.

Slip 'n slide, huh? It does sound more like camp. :p Does the yard they are on also classify what level they are on? How do I know which level my fiance is at? I guess I don't pay much attention to which level or what certain abbreviations like DVI all mean. All I know is he's in there and won't be going anywhere at least for the next 18 months. LOL ;)
I should probably get better acquainted with this type of stuff.

Glad to hear you got a call Pat. My next call won't be until Monday night. James and I try to schedule them and budget our calls. He works in the law library so he works Monday-Saturday and only gets to the phones once or twice a week. I'm bad though because 15 minutes on the phone is never enough time with him so I tend to tell him to call back. He though over the years has become more sensible and tells me we can't afford to ring up the phone bill. Sure now he wants to be sensible and mature. Too bad he didn't apply the same ethics before he went to prison. LOL

Like I said, all I know is where he is at and that's just about all I need to know. ;) My fiance, James, is on A yard and yeah he works in the law library. Hi Ladies!! The thread is busy today!! Let me see what I can answer for you...ummm there are 4 levels in the CDC with 1 being the least and 4 the most. Yards are organized by levels. Your level depends on your current crime and I believe your crimnal history. They use a point system to designate the levels. You can go up in points if you get in trouble and back down if you if you stay out of trouble.

Marta-I think your husband might have previously been a level 3 and because he is now married thats bring him down to a level 2. I do remember my husband saying that being married did bring him down as well.

I hope that helps.

Sherri, Haven't a clue, I wish I did, yes I agree, they all made bad choices and I pray that they have seriously learned, god knows they have paid as have their families!! Well if he is in the law library they will probably get him another clerical job! My LO was in a number of office positions , I guess you can only do a job for so long as you said and then they do move you, after 14 years he has been moved to a number of jobs..The way my LO explained his status to me was he got X number of points for his crime and sentence and then you can get your number lowered by good behavior etc., not sure if time also lowers it. He is at the lowest points he can be at as his sentence is life, so he can not go any lower..It is so confusing, I know some of the other girls know exactly how that works as well, but not I..You have a wonderful view and sense of humor, hang in there, it will take you a long way!!

Teri- Loving the weather of course I'm preparing myself mentally for the cold weather I will be getting when I move. BRRRR!!!!:D Glad you had a great weekend!

Well ladies I guess I have another reason why I wasn't suppose to start that job today....My 9 yr old son is getting two awards at school today! :hifive:  One for perfect attendance and another for honor student. I'm so proud of him because he's had such a rough time in school. Even though I was a bit disappointed over the job, if I had started today, I wouldn't have been able to see him get his awards. Just another sign it wasn't meant to happen. ;)

I did speak to my sister in law again and she is making sure I'm moving. She even has a second job lined up if I didn't want the first one. She's really selling this move to me.:p But what she is selling, I'm buying. :p

Well everyone have a great Monday!

Teri; glad you had such a good time with the visits, family can be such a blessing!! Plus a ton of fun!! Youa are lucky to have such neat relations!!

Sherri; Wow, let me tell you girl, we are looking at a high of 42 and a low of 27 today...do you have warm clothes? If you are going to store clothes, store the extreme hot weather stuff for the season. We dress in layers here, because if you wear something warm enough for the outside, you cook indoors..Make sure you have a good winter coat and the kids, warm boots and gloves..other than that, layer stuff, in wet cold weather, I wear a pair of winter boots to work and have a pair of dress shoes under my desk. But I did invest in a good lined leather trench and a lined hooded leather stadium coat. I hate being really cold or wet..I am sure your sister in law knows the places to get deals on good coats..that is the main expense. The kids here wear tshirts, over shirts, hoodies and if needed winter coats..they do not wear boots unless it is snowing and they are out in the snow snowboarding or sledding..they do have heavy stocking caps, but you will find what is COOL in your new area for the kids...They very well might have a white Christmas!! Those are very special...
Best and congrats on the awards at school!!!

Good afternoon everyone!

Melinda – Welcome to the group. :) You are not alone. Although it sounds like your loved one is a lifer, I have a lot of time left too…or should I say we have a lot of time left too. Actually we just dropped under the 8 year marker.

El – Congrats on the new position!!! And before you know it your hubby will be home. :D

Pat – Hello!!!

Marta – I’m glad to see you have found some strength and you are not letting this get you down. Keep your head up and keep up the faith!

Liz – Good afternoon! I can’t believe you and the girls this weekend! Your husband is probably thinking of a million ways to get you back when he comes home.

Q – Where have you been???

Everyone else – It’s almost Halloween…yippy! It’s my favorite holiday.

I think between El and a couple of others the points thing was covered. I know education levels, your crime, length of sentence, if you are a first timer or repeat offender, your martial status are all factored in when they first assign an inmate their initial points and there are many more factors listed in the Title 15. Depending on your points determines what level you will be. Here is some information directly out of the Title 15:

http://www.cdcr.ca.gov/BudgetRegs/docs/Title152006Final.pdf

Title 15 - Article 10

INMATE PLACEMENT (SECURITY LEVEL)

placed in a Level I facility.
(2) An inmate with a placement score of 19 through 27 shall be
placed in a Level II facility.
(3) An inmate with a placement score of 28 through 51 shall be
placed in a Level III facility.
(4) An inmate with a placement score of 52 and above shall be
placed in a Level IV facility.

Good Morning Everyone!

I had a nice surprise yesterday! I knew about my son getting awards but my two daughters got awards also. They all made perfect attendance AND Honor Roll !!!!!!!!!!! Yea! I was the proudest mom in the room. :D

Pat- I know it was snowing the other day in Colorado Springs. I don't mind the cold weather, but we've lived in San Diego and Vegas so we are use to warm weather. Definitely need to get a new wardrobe for the move. We don't plan on moving until the end of January. I think I read somewhere that Jan/Feb are the heavier snow months.

Teri- How are things with you? The rain was a nice surprise this morning.

Mrs. O'Dell...Glad you are doing well. I'll keep praying for you.

Well, have a nice day everyone! Gonna write to my honey to tell him the good news about the kids. He's gonna be a proud dad (step dad actually but he loves them like they're his own!):) Take care.

Good Morning Everyone!

Well, I decided I move in two months so I might as well start going through our things and trash what I don't need and pack the rest. I'm still a bit mad over that job. No one has called me back because the way they left it was I just couldn't start this past Monday but my app was still being processed. Those darn refs :blah: at my old job. I know policy is policy but I wasn't just any employee. I was fairly close to most of my supervisors so this really pisses me off. But I will try to remain calm, cool and collected. Seriously I know it was a sign of better things to come. This move is just what I needed. ;)

HEY TERI- It's funny when you think about it....You're husband will be moving closer to you and I will be moving further away from mine. :p Yeah, mine isn't thrilled about my move but he understands the decisions I make are not only for me and the kids but for him also.

Well have a wonderful day ladies. I will chat with you all later.
