:D Hello all...My boyfriend just got moved from Victor Valley MCCF <due to closure> and he was now transfered to Baker CCF. I have searched high and low on this sire and cannot find much about this place. Can anyone tell me anything about it. He only has 4 months to go.<out of 12> And the only reason I got as far as this was from the info I received on this site at the beginning. So anything would be helpful. Thanks all!!!!

He was in LA county for 3 months and in reception for another 3 so I havent felt him in 6 long months. are you guys approved visitors?? do I have to reaply even though I was already appoved in Lancaster?

Just a heads up... if you are approved at a CDC facility but not a CCF, you will have to reapply, get your man to send you a visitor questionaire now AND the approval form from the CDC. Attach a copy of the approval to your new visitor questionaire and send it in. It should only take a couple of weeks at the most to get approved at the CCF. Find out the address to send the visitor questionaire to and make it attention to the CDC Captain. Do not send it directly to your man, he will get it and have to send it back to you and you will have to resend it.

Good luck!!

Mine isn't at Baker, but he is at a CCF. You will have to reapply for visits there. Other than that, the rules for packages and visits are pretty much the same.

Hey does anyone talk their man on a regular basis? I changed my number and I keep forgetting to send it to my boyfriend. Does anyone think that they could send a message to my boyfriend with my new number? I'm getting antsy to talk to him and I haven't heard from him since he was transferred to Baker. It's going on 3 weeks....PM me if you can help me out at all.

for visiting someone at a CCF is similar to a big prison, youneed to reapply for visits even if you have already been approved to visit you man at a big prison.. the process does not take as long thats the only good thing... for dress code they are not that stricked, for me i just cant wear jeans... thats about it... i can wear my regular clothes tight, v neck shirts an so on... its pretty cool,....best of luck

cadustin

It's pretty much the same as any prison. Once you are approved, follow the same dress code as you would normally. Call the prison to find out the visiting schedule, usually the same, but not always... here is the link to the CCF's addresses and phone numbers:

No problem... Do you know if this is a GEO prison? My husband is trying to get transfered closer to home, but what we found out is he can only get transfered to another CCF that is run by GEO, cuz that is who runs the prison he is at right now.

thanks for the info cadustin

i have a question. my boyfriend was moved from lancaster to baker also. i was not approved for a visit in lancaster cuz they said i forgot to include 1 arrest from1993. it was for an unpaid speeding ticket that went to warrent. i had forgotten all about it, they sent me a form and told me to go to the court and get a disposition on the case. i went to the court and they coukdnt even find it, i never submited the form back to lancaster cuz they moved him, he recently sent me the new form for baker will i be able to be approved as lomg as i fill out the new form

mytoyheart

Only, they decide, but you can try, just don't forget the arrest this time and it would be even better of course to clear up that case.

the case was cleared 13 years ago. i paid rhe fine and thay let me go. the courts couldnt even find it so i could send it back. i dont know what i will do if i cant see him it has already been four and a half months since my last visit

If you include all the information on your form, there is a good chance you will be approved. If they still want court information, I got the lady to print out something from the microfishe and gave me a letter with the stamp on it to show it was from the courts and I sent that to the visiting sgt.

Since there isn't much info on Baker CCF, I thought I'd post some gained from my visit.

I decided to stay in the town of Baker so I could visit on Saturday and Sunday. There are only three "Motels" in Baker:

Royal Hawaiian Motel: 760-733-4326
Bun Boy Motel: 760-733-4252
Motel Will's Fargo: 760-733-4477

I can't say I even knew the difference between a "motel" and a "hotel" before this trip, but "wow" what a difference there is!

They all looked pretty damn scary, Motel Will's Fargo looked the nicest from the outside, but you know what they say "Never judge a book by it's cover"! I would of been better off sleeping in my car! The heater didn't work, the blankets were filthy, and the bathroom was sort of "cleaned" but still was gross. The girl at the front desk was really nice, but I would never stay there again.

I went into Los Dos Toritos for dinner, but nothing on the menu appealed to me, it was sort of a sad little place, so I went next door to The Mad Greek Cafe, which had a big menu and was packed with people. The next morning I choose Denny's, which is pretty consistent no matter where you are.

Visit: On the visiting rules it says visits are from 9 to 3, but I was told that you could not come between the hours when they are on yard recall, which is 10:30 to 12:30 (or something like that, not exact) when I got there. You have to go to the office to sign in and give them your I.D., in return you receive a slip of paper with your information along with the information of who you're visiting and a visitors badge you must wear at all times. They call your inmate over the loud speaker, then you walk across the parking lot to a cafeteria looking place where the visits are held. They have a metal detector you go through and also the wand kind at the first gate. There is a CO of types (I'm not sure if they are officiallly CO's) who sits up on a small stage and watches over everything. You bring him the slip of paper the office gave you to him and also hand over your keys. Then you pick a seat at long tables with benches and wait for the inmates to come in. The wait isn't very long. Once in a while another CO will come in and check things out. You are allowed to bring money for sodas & snacks, but you must get everything yourself, the inmates are not allowed to touch the money. So if he wants a soda you have to handle the money for him to get it, although they are allowed to go to the soda machine (which needs to be refilled REALLY badly), but not into the little area where the snack machines are (although there is a window and two doorways where they can see in, the snack machine was eating money on the Sunday visit, but the CO called and had it opened to retrieve the items). You are allowed to use the bathroom whenever you want but the inmates must ask the CO and be escorted if they need to go. The CO announces when there is nine minutes left for visit and then when visit is over. Hugs and kisses at the end of visit are allowed. You then go back to the CO in the front, get you keys and slip, and wait for all the visitors to gather to go through both gates together. Then there is a walk back across the parking lot to the office again (with it's two gates) and the trade of the slip of paper and visitor's pass for your I.D.

Staff: I was treated with respect by everyone except one lady on Sunday who tripped on another visitor and I for wearing heels and also for large hoop earrings. There is no mention of either of these things not being allowed in the rules sent to me by my inmate and when I pointed this out to her she got very upset and said they are "new rules". I was trying to communicate the idea that we followed their exact rules as they were given and that I had even wore the exact same pair of earrings on the visit the day before. She quickly became hostile and asked "are we going to have a problem". When I asked to speak to an ombudsmen I was told "There is not one at this facility". When all was said and done, I changed shoes and took off my earrings and the other visitor had to go into town and spend $15 dollars on a pair of slippers she will never use again.

What an experience. I think Baker is one of the City owned and run CCF's. They are considered Public, but are not staffed by the CDC. They do have to have 1 CDC sgt. on at all times to oversee everything. It sounds like they are just as strict if not stricter than the CDC's. Desert View MCCF is not even close to being that strict. I do have to say one thing is the same and that is the consistancy. One guard might have one standard for the dress code and another guard quite the opposite. Just to give you an example of how Desert View is:

You go through 2 gates and a secured door to get in. When you get in you fill out a slip and sign in a book. You hand your ID, keys, slip and clear bag with any money, pictures, etc to the guard. On a typical visit, the guard has you stand back, looks you over, you lift your pant legs, and walk through a metal detector. She gives you your copy of the slip and your money, etc. You walk through 2 more secure doors, down a hall and through another secure door to the visiting room. Right when you walk in there are 2 guards that sit immediately to your left. The inmate who takes pictures sits at a table next to them. There are about 4 rows of about 10 tables in each row that seat 4 (square tables). The restrooms are in the visiting room. There are men's, women's and inmate's restrooms. You have to sign in and they unlock the bathroom as you need to use it. The guys have to have the guard stand there while they use the bathroom.

Just to give you an idea of inconsistancy... I have gone and gotten in with blue. Now you cannot wear blue of any shade. Just another color to take out of my wardrobe. Yesterday when I went, the guard did not even know I was supposed to sign the log book. He said oh, go ahead and sign that. He did not check my pockets, pant legs, what I was wearing or anything and I walked through the metal detector and on my way I went. There is no CDC facility that I know of that you have to sign in to use the bathroom and they check the bathroom after every visitor. Although, they got real lax on that and when I went to see him 2 weeks ago they actually walked in on me! Yesterday, they actually kept the door locked and went in after every visitor.

So, a lot more lax, but the same in so many ways.

yeah I called MCI correctional billing to set up a line. Back when I didnt they didnt require a deposit now from what I was told they do... FYI your bill can only go upto $100 once you reached your limit they will put a block unless payment is made... (I hate when that happens) and they normally take a few days to take the block off so some advise is limit your self! you can also go online but I cant remeber the website

My fiancee is at Baker

If your loved one just got transfered there here are a few things you need to know:

Baker just changed their rules regarding the phones and Global Tel Link, you have to call Global Tel Link, ask for a supervisor, ask them how to get the block removed from your phone - BE SURE TO TELL THEM HE IS IN BAKER CCF, this facility now requires you fax a copy of your phone bill and ID to an office in FL (Global Tel Link) it takes 5 days to process, then your phone will receive calls

Also right now (due to some incidents) they do not have yard privelages there they do not have phone access after 4-5pm depending on the day.

Visiting is from 9-3 on Saturday and Sunday - Take several changes of clothes the rules change on a whim

I go every Saturday PM if you are interested in rideshare or if you need more info

I live in SD and he usually gets it in 2 days. They distribute mail every day so once it gets to Baker it doesnt take long

They are very strict on what you send so if you dont think your mail arrived it may be that - they are slow to return it

If you need me to try to get a message to your honey for you let me know

Hi everyone,
my husband just got transferred to Baker. I have two questions. I apologize in advance if these are already answered in another post but i did not see them.

#1) What is the website that allows me to add money to his account at Baker?

2) i know i have to fill out a new visiting form, is it the same one that he has sent me from another prison facility? are all the applications the same? and what is the address that i send the form to?

i appreciate any and all responses i can get.

thank you sooooo much.

1) What is the website that allows me to add money to his account at Baker? There is no Website to send money to a CCF. You have to send a postal money order!

2) i know i have to fill out a new visiting form, is it the same one that he has sent me from another prison facility? are all the applications the same? and what is the address that i send the form to? Yes they are the same visiting forms that CDCR uses. Just fill out one of those old forms you have left over (with his signature) and send it in ASAP! You should be approved within a couple weeks! I know it helps if you send a copy of your approval from the last prison he was at! Just write a quick note saying you didn't know if they needed it or not, but that you were attaching a copy just in case! You send it to:
Visiting Sergeant
P.O. Box 560
Baker CA 92309

I hope this helps! My hubby is in Goldnen State McFarlnd MccF. I can try to help you as much as I can as long as you let me know!

Yes, I finally got approved! I had to do a bit of bugging. I think they got tired of my calls. I am a determined girl though and I don't much stand in my way, which leads me to the hotel question. From what I've heard and seen online the three motels there scare me but I'm approved so I will find somewhere to stay.
So I will see you there,

Well, I see the last time some posted here was back on July 30, my question is how many facilities are in Baker? My boyfriend called me a few minutes ago and the call was a courtesy call I was able to talk to him for about 1 min.. When the called disconnected I redialed the number that came up on my caller ID. It's called IC Solutions I spoke with someone and she said that she couldn't find Baker California on her list, she said that maybe it's called something else. This company is either per-paid or through you local phone company. Does anyone know anything about this service, I dread having to go through Global Tel-Link because the last time he was only 98 miles from me and each call was $13.01 per call.........that's outrageous This person at IC Solutions said that they service 800 facilities and that my boyfriend can keep making these courtesy calls until an account is setup. Can someone please help me?
