My son is in jail in Oregon on a felony drug posession charge. He may have to do 30 to 90 days. Does anyone know if Oregon has something like California. The inmate gets 1/3 off? He got 1/2 off in California prison but I don't know about Oregon jails.
Thank you

In the prisons they get 20% off. In jail they only get good time if they are working. Then I think it 4-5 days off a month. Hope that helps.

I would check with his lawyer on this. Different jails have different guidelines and opportunities because of overcrowding. It's possible that he would be a candidate for work release or home monitoring (i.e the bracelet).

All county jails in Oregon have "good time credits" and some or all have "work credits" but the amount varies from jail to jail. You would have to call the county jail where he is housed and asked them. But more likely, you could ask HIM because all inmates figure that one out pretty fast by asking others. And, as stated above, some county jail systems have work release, in custody treatment programs, house arrest, electronic surveillance, road crew, or furlough options. Depends on the facility. That's a pretty short sentence he's got there. Z.
