Is there anyone with any updated info on ventress correctional Facility. The threads I have come accross are from late 2005. Is there anyone that can give me visitors info. My brother was just transfered there from Kilby and i am curious.

My husband is at Ventress you must get there between 7:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. be prepared to wait awhile you can not park until they tell you can then you enter the small building out front and they search you there you must have your ID you can take $30 (quarters only) in a ziplock bag, no white can be worn - no jewerly - no sleeveless shirts - Also you visit inside only (which really sucks) if you get there to early and lots of people have comein to visit and the room gets crowded the first visitors will be told to leave. If you have any more questions I will be glad to help. Take Care and Good luck. I also forgot you must have your tag number and his AIS # and you must lock your car or they will ask you to leave if they find it unlocked.

The visitation policies and procedures usually don't change much... most of our info for some of the other facilities is from 2002 and 2003 and it's still mostly the same. So if it's from 2005 it's probably almost all the same.

The only major changes I know of most places is that most or all of the facilities no longer allow jewelry except for wedding rings, and some facilities that used to allow $40 to be brought in now only allow $30.

But again, like I said, info from 2005 would really be considered "recent" in the prison world and probably hasn't changed much if at all. It usually doesn't much at most facilities.
