Does anyone have any crazy Rikers stories from their own personal experiences or through a loved one? Lets share them because we all know prison is not a fun place. Might as well educate and hope someone reads this and will finalyl stay out of these hell holes!

While waiting on line for the package room at Rikers another visitor told me a pretty bad story that her relative, who's at Rikers heard. (hope that made sense :D ) An inmate reportedly mouthed off to one of the CO's one day and told the CO how they weren't all that tough. (bad move) A few days later, the guy was jumped by 4 inmates (not necessarily related to him getting smart with the CO :rolleyes: ), which resulted in a couple of broken ribs. And on his way to be taken to medical guess who had the pleasure of escorting him and got in a few good licks? Yup same CO, he'd told wasn't so tuff.
My motto is kill 'em with kindness. My man's used to being at Riker's (unfortunately) and knows to mind his p's and q's. And I have to say I've had pleasant experiences from the CO's when I've vistied; even if I didn't I wouldn't go at it with them. Because in the end, they run things. If I get smart with them then all of a sudden I'd start having delays with processing time, delivering packages, etc... Not to mention that I wouldn't want my man to get caught up in some mess cause I got an attitude with a CO. It's not worth it.

My first jail visit was at Rikers and I had no idea that you couldn't bring cell phones, right? Well, I brought my cell onto the island and in processing was told that I couldn't bring it in, but they didn't have anywhere for me to store it so a CO told me to go put it in the parking lot (hide it). Well, I hid it in the staff lot, went back inside, was processed, went on my visit, came out and went to go retrieve me cell when a female CO came out and asked where the hell I was going. I told he my story and she's all like, "If you take one step closer to that lot, I'm gonna set the dogs on you." Needless to say, I left my cell phone there that day. The CO meant the visitor's parking lot across the bridge, but he never specified that! And I thought he was being nice...

Princess that's crazy. Someone could have easily escorted you to get your phone.

I haven't really had any bad experiences personally at Rikers. The guards for the most part know me because i'm there every week and they are usually respectful. My man on the other hand was cut on Riker's Island. I hate that place, it's not safe and the people running it bunch everyone in together.

i was on the island back in 1996. it was anything but sweet. i was young and facing a long ass charge. i beat it but others didnt. i was face to face with some hardened criminals and being that i was young and this was my first prison experience, i had to get into survival mode. i am not happy of the things i did but it was either me or them. i was never cut but did a little myself. my friends have been cut. i have been beaten by cos many times and i have no respect for them. i respect the law but not those who are suppossed to uphold it and use their b.s. power to abuse it.

i hope some people read this thread and realize that prison is not cool. dont get caught up cuz you will be aired out in time. someone in the joint will find you and hurt you. i made alot of enemies on purpose. at that time i loved to fight and make others bleed. sounds crazy i know. but i was another person back then. i hate to admit it. but i would never try to glorify this shit anyday
