If you are co-defendants you can each apply to the warden of your facility for mail with each other. If the relationship is mentioned in your PSI then usually it will be approved, but not a sure deal, each case is different. Since you are relatively new to the site welcome and read all you can so you will know what is ahead of you. Good luck at sentencing.

Thank you so much for the info. I'm trying to learn everything I can its just a guessing game. Thank you for the welcome also.
We are co-defendents along with 3 other people. Probation officer seemed ok enough and my public defender is great (I know that isn't said alot) It will mean alot if I will be able to keep in touch, we've been together 13 years.

Brat, welcome to PTO. As noname10 mentioned you most likely will be allowed to write since you are mentioned in the PSR and have a lengthy relationship.

Try not to be overwhelmed as there is so much fear of the unknown (and so much is unknown). First of all, you mentioned that you would probably be going to a camp OR minimum security. A camp IS minimum security. The next higher than a camp is a Low.

Try to breathe. If sentencing is in November you will probably be going in right before or after the New Year.

Hi Brat

Some case managers work with issues of mail from one institution to another and between co-defendants. Make sure when you get there to mention this to your case manager. The sooner you address it the sooner you will know if they grant you permission. I am wishing you strength.

Peace

Thank you all for the welcome. My probation officer said that if I am sentenced to any time inside that I should ask that it be defferred until my son grad. in June. I will ask as soon as I am sent. to be able to mail him. His sentencing is 2 weeks before mine.
Thank you all again.

It will not do any good to bring up the mail issue at your sentencing since it strictly a case by case done by the BOP. If you get probation instead of time then you will need to address the issue with your PO. The courts do not have anything to do with this situation. Good luck to your boyfriend and to you.
