View Full Version : Easterling connection...
pepper24 09-24-2006, 05:21 PM Hi All,
I've noticed several threads in other forums that were just kind of like "get to know ya" threads. Figured I would try it to see how many would respond. I was wondering how many of us (currently or previously) have/had loved ones at Easterling? I am new to PTO, and I know I will have many questions:confused: and/or rants  during the time my fiance is there. He has only been there about a month, now. He was in Kilby (for 3 weeks) prior to Easterling. Just wanted to say HI, and I look forward to meeting and getting to know ya'll!! By the way, I'm Kortney:wave: .
Tamter143 09-24-2006, 06:01 PM Hi, Kortney!
My boyfriend is currently at Easterling and has been for over a year now.... I don't know much but I might can answer your questions - so please feel free to ask!
Tammie

I LOVE ADAM
pepper24 09-25-2006, 10:52 AM Hi Ladies!!! Thanks for the intro's. And, thanks for offering your help!!
Golden Girls 10-04-2006, 09:59 PM My fiance is at Easterling, also. He has only been there about 2 months.
pepper24 10-05-2006, 09:13 AM Hi there, and welcome:wave: !!! My fiance hasn't been there very long either. It doesn't seem like too bad of a place (as far as prisons go, I suppose). There is nowhere near as much leaniency (sp?) there as in other camps in the ALDOC!! Which, I personally think that may be better. Again, welcome!!!!
Kortney
pepper24 10-12-2006, 12:46 PM So, the 4 of us are the only ones with loved ones at Easterling?!?!?! HHHMMM:hmm: ....Oh well, maybe others will soon join in!!:grouphug:
Karen Jones 10-12-2006, 01:44 PM Hello Pepper,
I'm new to this site and really do not know my way around. I posted an intro. somewhere out there. Yes, I have a loved one at Easterling!!!! He has been in two other prisons but this one is the worse. They make up the rules as they go. What goes today may get you put in lockup tomorrow.
Hotspot 10-18-2006, 06:56 PM Hey everybody How yall doin' I have a cousin in Easterling and their rules do seem to be so petty.
Take care
adam's fiance 10-19-2006, 11:05 AM yeah they have their own set of rules and it sometimes seems silly
Hotspot 10-28-2006, 07:49 PM Do any of you guys send postage stamps through the mail
pepper24 10-30-2006, 06:25 PM So far, the only stamps I have sent were in his incentive package. I've seen several posts on here by ladies who sent stamps with letters, etc. & their guys didn't get them. I just send money orders to make sure he has enough $ for stamps, envelopes or whatever else he may need.
Tamter143 10-30-2006, 07:26 PM You can send as many postage stamps as you like...believe me I send a book about every month. They don't care....you cannot send anything else like paper and envelopes like some of the other facilities let you but postage stamps are okay to send....
adam's fiance 11-01-2006, 08:01 AM but you can send stamped envelopes because i send adam one every time i mail him a letter but that may be because he is in lockdown you can always try it
Lysbeth 11-05-2006, 10:24 PM You can send stamps to all ADOC facilities two books (or sheets) at a time... in other words, no more than 40 stamps per envelope you send in.
I usually send stamps separately from any letters 'cos occasionally there will be a holdup with the stamps. But two books or sheets at a time is the general rule all over, yeah, unless they're in lockup and usually it's OK there most places too.
aquabanana 12-22-2006, 09:09 PM Hey all,
I was at Easterling for over a year... it's been some time since I was released, but I'd be glad to answer any questions you have.
Tamter143 12-22-2006, 10:48 PM You were at Easterling? Hmmmm! Interesting! How long were you there? My boyfriend has been there over a year and has hopefully only til July to go....he comes up for parole then.
DTOWN83 12-23-2006, 10:48 PM I have a question, can an inmate talk through prison talk, by making post on the internet?
DTOWN83 12-23-2006, 10:50 PM When were you at Easterling?
DTOWN83 12-23-2006, 10:52 PM How bad is Easterling compared to other facilities, i know it is a minimum security prison, but does anyone know anything about what goes on inside
adam's fiance 12-24-2006, 09:53 AM yeah my fiance is at easterling right now too. he goes up for parole in feb. of 2007.
Tamter143 12-25-2006, 07:04 PM No, inmates cannot communicate via PrisonTalkOnline.com or any other websites. They do not have internet access in prisons (that I know of). And Easterling is like any other facility in Alabama - they are strict about some things and not about others - isn't that they way they all are? LOL! They make up their own rules as they go just like any other facility...believe me I have seen it happen.
pepper24 02-26-2007, 09:58 AM Yeah, that is pretty much par for the course down there, huh!!!
shayzie76 03-11-2007, 06:30 AM I have someone at Easterling. He has been there about 2 weeks. He told me today that it was the worst place he has been. Of course, he has only been to Kilby and Ventress in the past. I am visiting the 18th, I am a little nervous though. Haven't saw him in over a month at the county jail!! I work at a camp so I kinda try to keep that quiet because I am afraid they won't let me visit!! I don't work for the DOC tho, just a contractor, so there really shouldn't be a problem. Anyway, glad to see others with someone there, maybe we can help each other along!!!!

Hi Shay! Welcome to the forum! Yeah, we all have guys at Easterling. Mine has been there since the last week of August. It's not too bad. I've got nothing to compare it to. He had only been in county & then Kilby for 2 weeks while waiting to be processed & sent to Easterling. They are VERY strict down there, but I think that can be a good thing...fewer ways to get in trouble. Although...sometimes, they'll still find a way!:haha:
Congrats on your upcoming visitation!! The visitation "vibe" really depends on which & how many C.O.'s are there. Some are MUCH more laid back than others. Normally, they only allow you one hug & kiss at the beginning & end. If certain c.o.'s are in there they'll let you sneak a peck or an arm around one another, etc. My advice is...GET THERE EARLY!!!! That way you can be one of the first one's in & can spend that much more time with your guy! I can understand your nervousness & hesitation with your job & his situation. I suppose there are some in the camps that could/would consider it a conflict of interest. However, you don't work for the DOC, so I don't see where it would be a problem. Again, Welcome to the forum! I look forward to getting to know you better!
shayzie76 03-19-2007, 11:20 PM Hi guys!!! Since my last post, I was supposed to visit yesterday, the 18th, but last Wednesday, Officer Sapp didn't approve me because he has been married before and they needed his divorce papers. I sent them in but she told him I couldn't visit until the next time. When his mom and sister went yesterday, they were under the impression his sister was me at first and there was no problem at all, so in other words, I could have went!!!! It made me sick!!! I am not going to let it get me down, I am just going to go next time. He was kinda irritated that I didn't try to come anyway, but it is like a 3 hour drive and if they had sent me away, I would have sat in the car for 5 hours waiting on his mom and sister!!! Anyway, nothing will keep me from going the next time!! Does any of you know if the next one will be 3-31 or 4-7? Thanks guys!!!
Tamter143 03-21-2007, 09:16 PM Hi, there.....I have a boyfriend at Easterling and I went thru that too....when Terry first went down there I had to come up with his divorce papers...Imagine me calling his EX out of the blue after 8 yrs since they divorced....LOL! She sure was full of questions..... But I got them....
Nice to meet you!
So you was supposed to visit on the 18th = I think that would have been my day....or was it Kortney? You know more than I do......
pepper24 03-23-2007, 05:33 PM I think visitation with our guys would have been on the 17th, Tam. I'm not 100% on that...but about 95%.
Rickys_Princess 05-26-2007, 06:40 PM I too have a loved one at Easterling. He is my world. He came up for parole last week and got put off for a year. They want him to finish up this Drug Program he's in and hopefully they will release him in about 6 months. He has been at Easterling for a while. I'm not sure how long but I think it's been like 5 or 7 yrs. I also wanted to let you know I added some of you girls to my buddylist. I hope you don't mind.

Yes I added you to my buddylist but not sure how it works, don't know if I can chat with ppl on it or not. I do go see Ricky at least once a month. Twice if possible. They say that he may come up early for parole that they are good about doing that. God I hope so! I'm off to see him this Sunday and I can't wait! Well I'm gonna run, thanks for chatting with me.
