Is there a way to find out if someone is a sex offender while they are in prison? Besides looking at the NY DOCS information site. All it says is that the person was charged with Assault 2nd degree class D I mean if they were charged with a sexual crime wouldn't it say? Can anyone answer that>?

well look it up on the ex offender registry for the state of ny not nydocs ...it will be listed there if theyre in prison and give the persons facility and din # listenig as well as the crime (specifics) pm me if u want!:D

Michigan doesn't put anyone on the registry until they are out of prison.

ladyroxy it would actually, it would tell you whether he was charged with a sexual crime. I looked up some info for someone once and it did state that the person was charged with a sexual crime.

That's correct Laflor. DOC does list what the person was charged with. Ladyroxy, it all it list is an assault charge, that is all the person was actuall convicted of. Hope this helps.
