Take a deep breath! It's often very confusing at the beginning, and you have NO idea how much bureaucracy she is dealing with right now. She may not have an active account yet, or have her phone list approved, or lots of other things. You can, however, call her unit and make sure she's all right.

Good Luck!

There a lot of reasons why you havent heard from her and none are her fault or even a bad thing. For example mail does not leave most federal places after the last pick up Friday afternoon till Monday afternoon, then if a Fed holiday is in there thats another day no mail. If they are short handed in the mail room then incoming and outgoing will be slow. If she arrived on a Thursday she might not have been able to shop til Monday since some camps do not do Friday commissary. The US Postal system itself. Just wait soon you will get an avalanche of mail, a litter of letters, masses of missels, you get the picture. Just send her something everyday and her replies will eventually get to you in return. Take a deep breath and remember it is not nice to trip the mailman when he doesn't bring you a letter.;)

Duramax--- welcome to the PTO and Kentucky forum we are here to help when you need it and when you dont. it does take time for them to get mail and send mail but if you need to know about her you can call and they will tell you if she is okay and you can talk to her case worker and get set up on her visit list if you are not on it yet. she will be okay just keep writing her and incouraging her and occasionally send her a card to keep her cheered up because time will go by fast just stand by her and love her no matter what. if you need anything you are more then welcome to private chat if you like.

It takes a while. I think we were on day 9 when my son called from his counselor's office.
