This is what they're calling the new contract, so I started a new thread for anyone looking for information. As I hear or find out, I'll post it, but feel free to post your news. :)

I am so sad. My BF called this morning and his already trans packed to go to California City. I'm confused and frustrated. I called this morning and they told me they have no idea if visiting will be available for Christmas. The only way to make an appointment is via phone and no one would pick up! I'm trying really hard to except this but I just was hoping someone had some info. Like is it really no contact visiting ?

California City Prison opened in the 18th of December so things are going to take some time to get up and running. I don't know about no contact visits but I do know that when it's all said and done the inmates will have to be afforded all the privileges they would have got anywhere else, however is going to take time.

The visits are with contact. As of now there are only 70 inmates in the facility. From what Ive been told, things are very disorganized, seeing how the facility just opened. If you have not sent in a visitors application, the same basic rules apply (CDCR rules) however, I would expect processing to be twice as long. Im currently trying to find a vendor that will ship packages to this new facility.

Thank you, Thank you! I was so worried. Do you know if they got the phone contract yet? I want to make sure when the phones open I have $ on the account for my boyfriend. Also, can you tell me about the visiting, like what can we not wear and also do I have to complete another visitor application for this specific facility?

Mr.Stephone

No there are no family visits at this time. My brother just transferred there yesterday and he was very upset because he said they didn't accommodate individuals who get family visits. I'm pretty sure that in time things will start running like it's suppose to, if not CDCR will have a lot of angry women on their hands.

So my boyfriend transferred there already. It's suppose to be level II but when I went to visit it felt VERY different from where he was before. If you plan on visiting please be aware that they're very STRICT about visitors clothing. I'm sure this is partly because it's just opened up as a CDCR facility and things will get less stressful as they figure it out. Also as of now i don't know anything about packages yet but my bf just told me he can now buy stuff from commissary. Same phone as the rest of cdcr Global TelLink. Seems like he is able to use the phone more easily here as there are not as many people using it. This place is in the middle of no where but overall it's ok so far just some disorganization.

Mr.Stephone
12-30-2013, 01:22 AM
No im sorry to inform you but nobody has received a different date.Jerry Brown is dead set on no early releases for 80 & 85 percenters . The Only dates that being changed is for 50 percenters who earn millstone credits, those who have received credit restoration from a rule violation report (115) or lifers who have earned dates through the board. They only way Jerry Brown will extend good time credits to 80& 85 percenters is by court order which the court my force him to do because lawyers for inmates are dead set on it and by the April 18 deadline CDCRs population will still be over capacity by 4,000 inmates.

No Tv's are not allowed in the cells :( My husband arrived there today from ASP (originally from CRC) and was told his TV has to be sent home. he's really annoyed. he JUST got it as his Christmas present. just our luck. smh!

My husband just arrived there today. So far he said it's A LOT different than his previous prisons-(ASP, CRC, and LA County) Mainly the whole switch from dorm living to cell :( I know that is going to be a huge adjustment. and then the whole fact that quarterly packages arent used yet or being able to put money on their books via online. (which sucsk) 't called on the state phone but it cut us off after only 8 mins :( which was super frustrating. Can anyone tell me anything on visitation??? I travel from New York to see him and i wanted to find out if the long distance hardship applies as it has at every other prison (i usually get two full days with him b/c of the 2500 mile trip) and i only visit him like 3 times a year because of the cost. I had already booked my trip for our anniversary weekend memorial day weekend before this whole transfer BS. amazing that they only gave him 48 hrs notice before he was on the bus! Anyways, if anyone can provide me ANY information at all that would be amazing. I am hoping he calls back tomorrow.

Has anyone had a love one go from a level 3 to a level 2 just to get sent to CaliforniaCity

My boyfriend recently had his points drop to a level II, if I remember it was in September. He was sent to California City on 12/24/2013. So far by God's grace I have been able to see him three times. He is now 3 hours away from home. When he was moved he was very close to finishing the last part of a vocational program, participating in a distance learning program, had no write ups in almost a year, was having weekly visits from us, able to participate in worship services a couple times per week and had less then a year left to meet his 85%. He now has no school, no church, no inmate work assignment and went without going outside for nearly a month. I am so frustrated I do not know how to deal with it. Thankfully the guys in his housing unit finally got a second blanket because it was so cold in his cell he had to sleep with multiple layers of clothes. Yesterday when we visited they had some different CO's in the visiting room that were more respectful so that was a major plus. They did also finally get store which was helpful in getting some basic needs met. From what I was told the package vendors have not been set up yet but should be in a couple of weeks. Sorry for sounding so negative, this has just been a very difficult transition for us. I am so ashamed that I voted for Jerry Brown!

My Husband is there now as well. His section of the prison said that there will be no packages for at least a year or more??? And they have NOT gotten store yet.
nor have they gotten any other prison blues or access to their personal belongings. I am assuming you're bf was lucky b/c of him being there long enough already or something? mine has only been there a week as of today. He HATES IT. he was doing really well at CRC and ASP. this place is horrendous.

It is a real challenge, I try to be grateful because I know that there are so many families so far away from their loved ones. It took quite a while for him to get his personal stuff and there was pictures/ his Christmas card that never made it back to him. It's sometimes hard to distinguish between gossip from the guys and facts. There is suppose to be a package vendor contract in the next few weeks. My boyfriend has been trying to see a counselor for two weeks and hasn't been called. Also, some of the guys were asking my bf in visiting about clothes because they had not received new clothing.

A couple of notes on visiting. There can be absolutely no metal not even clasps in your bra. They do not use a walk through metal detector, they wand you. So I had to buy an all cloth sports bra. Also, they are VERY strict on clothing. Be sure that you bring lots if changes of clothes because they do not have a friends outside. The Best Western in California City is only five mins from the prison and is very nice for a reasonable price.
On a positive note, the place is very clean, my man is happy to be out of his loud drama filled former dorm and most everyone in his housing unit is relaxed/ respectful. Hoping everything gets settled soon for your loved one.

Well if I can give you any comfort, my boyfriend has said that all of the guys in his pod are much more respectful then the place he was at prior. There have been no fights in his pod since he's been there. We always pray for the CO's for safety, blessings and for God to keep their hearts from becoming hardened by their surroundings. So from my family to yours I wish you all the best and just know that we will continue to pray for you. My hope is that CDCR will get the guys their core needs ASAP because that will eliviate some of the stressors following the transfers. I can't speak for others but I know my boyfriends points were dropped because if his behavior.

hmm. I am hearing completely different information from my husband. He said people in his housing unit are not cool. his cellmate isn't cool either. he still has yet to get a change of clothes same socks/boxers etc since they've arrived. so 5 days with the same dirty stuff.,no toothpaste, or clean sheets/towels. he misses the dorm living at ASP. he said this place is the worst one he's been in. What housing unit is your guy in? B/c that is QUITE the difference in stories... and i just spoke to him 10 mins ago. Mine doesn't qualify for dropped points due to good behavior or not. he's maxed out and is in on a probation violation. PV's don't get good behavior credits. So no matter what he is in until 2017. Seriously though-Your prison vs what my version of this place is are SO drastically different. So i am thinking they must be in different pods??? or something?? I mean i do agree that he said there were no fights. But then again they haven't been let out of their cells other than for chow time. He's a level 2. he shouldn't be kept locked up. What you both are describing is exactly how it was for my boyfriend when he got there. He spent most of his first several days in his cell. They just barely got to go outside after three weeks and was freezing in his cell at night because the a/c was so cold. Not all of his property was returned and it took a long time for him to get his stuff back. I was very upset and overwhelmed but now things have settled down and are getting more organized. This whole transfer has been a roller coaster ride. My boyfriend has been there since 12/24 not sure when your husband was transferred? I gave to check on the housing unit and get back to you .

So when you say "worst" that's because the facility is disorganized and not on top of it. The guys may not be cool because they are irritated right now because all the stuff they are going through? But no fights ,maybe they are locked in the cells so long because they don't have enough c/o 's yet . I know my guys class is 4 months long and after that the new class is 3 months. Dorm situations are good because of the interaction they get. I know my kids dad liked dorm but said it was harder to sleep than cell because your like sleeeping with one eye open in a sense.

I gave to check on the housing unit and get back to you .

he's only been there for a week so far. He was at CRC for 3 years and at ASP for 10 months and in LA County supermax for a year. I mean obviously (as i am sure it is the same for all of us) can only go by what he is telling me. I am hoping that it DOES improve. i hate hearing him sound like this. Especially being so far away. I live in New York (he's from New York) so it's not like i get to see him every weekend.I only come out to visit every 3-6months depending on airfare being affordable. So hearing him sound so completely upset and frustrated and down is really hard to begin with but 2500 miles away adds the extra stress!

Your guys class? Like an actual class? sorry not sure what you meant by that. Yeah i am sure a lot has to do with it jus topening i agree on that point. But i do think they should've been more prepared with clothing for the inmates, having the packages be set up already, allowed them to have their TV's. (i literally had bought his for him a week before we found out he was transferring so total waste of $350) Mine says its harder to sleep in the cell than the dorm. but i guess to each their own on that aspect. His bunkie was a friend of his in the dorm and so were his two neighbors. so he had no issues w/ that. they all gotten transferred together. the dude in the cell isn't someone he knows and they are not getting along and he's stuck w/ him all day os that must be hard. Also, i guess the beds in the cell are a lot worse for him. He broke his neck in 2001 and has a metal cage in his neck and bolts in his spine and i guess its harder than what he had in the dorm setting. so he's been in a lot of pain since arriving.

Yeah i meant an actual class....my earlier post explained what I meant
He is going to be taking a job there as a C.O ....I had mentioned prior that I came to
pto when my kids dad went to prison so this site gave me comfort. Now my fiance
Will be going to California City to work and I'm just curious on what he has in store doing this job at this prison that is clearly unorganized and is going to cause the guys there stress....
So I've been teaching him the other side of the coin here....the family stress ect...

Well unfortunately last night something popped off. At about 7:30 I was on the phone with my boyfriend and he said the lights were flashing. The CO's instructed everyone to their cells. When I talked to my boyfriend a little while ago he said they had been on lock down all day since last night. He said there was some kind of fight in the B unit. I don't know any other details but that's the gossip. Also, he said that today he finally got some sheets and new "whites" so socks, t-shirts ect. If I am completely honest, at times I feel hysterical about this transfer, like the rug has been pulled out from underneath me. I try so hard to be thankful and positive but sometimes it just hits me. Any new info I get I'll try to share.

Ugh :( I know I worry about that so much! My boyfriend has ten months till he comes home. And even though I hate it I know he can't be a push over and has to stand up for himself. I just pray everyday that God keeps him out of the way of any of this stuff. It's beyond me why people just don't shut up and do their time. Thanks for your nice words. I know that had to be nerve wracking for you. It sure was for me! There are contact visits and actually you cannot make an appointment yet. The VPASS doesn't work yet. You should be aware that they are VERY STRICT about clothing rules. I've visited there about four times now since Christmas Eve.

I should start by saying that my only previous visiting experience was at CMC West. Which I loved but was overly lax when it came to visiting. That being said the shock of the structure at Cal City was an eye opener to how great we had it before.
1. No appointments necessary. There have not been that many visitors yet. At least the four times I've been there.
2. Visiting 8-3
3. Clothing rules are VERY STRICT. They do not use a walk through detector, you will be wanded. Even the little clasps on the back of my bra went off. Be sure you were an all cloth sports bra. Clothing CANNOT BE TIGHT OR FORM FITTING.
4. The food is reasonably priced.
5. The prison is in the middle of no where. I thought I was lost but I followed my GPS and got there just fine.
6. No friends outside as of now so bring lots of clothing options.
7. We stayed at the Best Western, it was cheap $80 and very clean.
8. No family visits, sorry ladies!

Hope this helps!

Approx. 1400 inmates are being transferred by the end of February into California City from TCCF in Mississippi.

Is it true no TV? What about other electronics? TCCF has told us Securus, but is it Global Tel-link?

Are there package vendors yet?

yes, TVs will never be allowed in this facility
Crock pots are okay
Radios ok if clear and fit the measurements stated in the Title 15.

FYI, here are the numbers to avoid operator with any questions:
(760) 373-1764 then for general questions R&R punch in either 20132 or 20174. For visiting punch in 20246

He also said they do have canteen/commissary now and the vendors have been approved for packages.

Hello, finally got to go see my love. It is a very small place where you sign in. They make u take off your shoes and sweater to wand u. The they assign you to a table. You can hug and kiss when u get there. And hold hands the whole time. You can also walk around holding hands . You can buy food from vending machines and warm it up in the microwave. California City Prison opened in the 18th of December so things are going to take some time to get up and running. I don't know about no contact visits but I do know that when it's all said and done the inmates will have to be afforded all the privileges they would have got anywhere else, however is going to take time.

1400 Inmates coming from TCCF (CCA Mississippi, all level 2 and level 1 and are going back into cell living with no televisions. :( They will leave by end of February from Miss to Ca City

Oh that's crazy! No I haven't heard that, maybe it's a different housing unit. I would think for something that serious they would be on lock down for sure. But the prison we were at before they would put everyone on lock down at first and then just keep the group or yard that had the issue on lock down. I would think something like that we be published in the cdcr star or local paper ???

Hello Ladies

My fiance finally received his first package which I ordered from Golden State, & I actually emailed to company requesting catalogs to be sent into the prison. Although, they (C/O's) held on to the package for almost 3 weeks before releasing it to my fiance. It seems as if all the companies have now set up their contracts, so hopefully they should be able start receiving things in a more timely manner. The phone situation is a bitter sweet deal. We get to talk every evening, however, this is becoming costly :slap:. I just found out yesterday that my application has FINALLY been approved! :boogie: Its been 16 months since I have seen my love & I am very excited! Unfortunately, my license is currently suspended until May & Im looking to ride-share. If anyone is planning to drive out to California City anytime soon (especially March 2nd) & you dont mind an extra passenger, it would be so greatly appreciated. Im willing to pay for gas. Im in the Downey area but can travel to surrounding areas. If anyone can help please email me at (email removed per pto policy, pm member)

My husband is in TCCF Mississippi and most of the Level 2 men there are being transferred to Ca City soon. The prison grapevine has it that many of the men at Ca City are on a hunger strike protesting lack of everything.

We have heard that they never did finish installing electricity into the cells and that means no electronics can be run. With no TVs except those in the day room, you can only hear those TVs if you have a radio tuned to that station and there is no power for that. The guys with battery chargers cannot use them because no electricity. My husband heard that the men in CCity are tired of it all.

I too would like any info anyone has on living conditions, hunger strike, electricity, etc.

Thank you

I spoke with my fiance yesterday. They just came out of lock down. As for living conditions.......he whined A LOT when he first arrived (12/2013). But he has now been to canteen & received a package. He's only been out to yard a few times. I think his biggest complaint is the fact there are no programs for him to participate in. No meetings of any sort (AA, NA, etc), church, or educational programs. No library. He does have electricity in his cell/pod. As for the day room, he said there are 3 tv's. The inmates are supplied with a radio & ear buds so they can tune into the station that corresponds with whatever tv they want to watch. There are 4 phones in his day room. He does complain about the food; that portions are not big enough. No mention of hunger strikes. In my opinion, he is man & will whine about it all, & I have to remind him that this prison is still trying to get organized. It is slowly improving. He's also had a medical & 2 dental visits since arriving. But I do agree that the lack of yard time, & programs will make them a little stir crazy, which will only end up in chaos.

Nenita805
02-26-2014, 10:15 PM
A whole different issue is that there are no damn bathrooms in the yard. So my man goes outside for some air and is stuck there for hours without access to a restroom. The lack of programs available is a serious issue. I can't wait for him to be out of that hell hole. It's a place for the state to warehouse inmates and it makes me furious.

Are you saying that I should not be asking this question here, or that you don't know and I should call TCCF? If this was an inappropriate question, I apologize. I'm not asking for details, just generically.

I think its the right forum. I'm just not sure who will know if stop along the way to CA. That's why I suggested to call and ask TCCF if they will know where they stop or if they do. Maybe someone else who has transferred will know. I would think they would because that's along drive, unless there in charter busses with a bathroom.

TCCF won't know. The bus ride is CDC's responsibility and is staffed by CDC officers. Presently they are sending by plane about 400 inmates from TCCF to Calif City this week.

Talked to hubby and he said he doesn't think TVs will be allowed. There is no connection in the cell for it. And I doubt CDCr will want to invest money to add this into the cells?

Hello - I haven't seen any current updates since January, and my husband was endorsed today to go from Corcoran to California City.
Can anyone give me any information, or as much as possible? I'm approved to visit, but I want to make sure that we're able to see him if he does in fact go in a couple weeks.

ANY advice would be helpful as we're travelling from Oregon now and it's going to be a long jaunt for no visits.

Thank you!

Are there any family visits at this facility? what kind of program can he expect once getting transfered there.... thanks!

As you can read in the thread this place is new and not as easily ran as other facilities. There are no programs yet [hopefully that changes in time] and no family visits. Pictures are the same. Visits are OK, no appointments are needed. He can call often so that's a plus. For me the phone calls are cheaper, so that's been the only positive thing so far, plus being 2.5 hours away compared to 6 hours like before.

Really a bus left last night as well, and they were told California City as well. That's why he and I are wondering what the hold up for him is, but apparently CDCR still has no clue as to where they are being sent. Thank you for the information as well.

There are no family visits. Id doubt any will be available in the future. They do not have staff even for the most basic things like delivering mail.

Access works for cac. I use Amazon for books and don't know about barns and noble. Quarterly packages start over for new facility arrivals so even if they just got one this quarter you can order again. Can't confirm this as I have not yet tried to get a new one.
Been over three weeks with out his stuff or any mail. I pray things get right soon for all who have been sent there.

It took them a month give him his property. I did order a package and that only took a week maybe 10 days to get to him. It is awful there as no one knows anything, there all mainly rookies. Access is fine, that's who I used. I can't say if it gets better, we been here only 5 weeks...its closer to home than where he was so that's my positive outlook on the place.

Visiting is ok, just a pain how this facility operates! Everything is opened by a central control system for every door to be opened. So take for instance to use the bathroom I have to wait inside visiting for the door to open by a guard. Then go out into the hall wait for another gate to open and then someone to unlock the bathroom door. Then the same process to go back inside. What should be a 4 minute process takes 15 now!! I'm not to the wait, its usually inside the visiting room and I go as I please. I feel like I'm the prisoner just to use a bathroom!!!

Everything is a process, since CDCR doesn't own this facility everything has to be ran by Tennessee who owns it. They are working on it they said but it will a while for them to have this approved and built! The visiting sgt said there waiting for it to be at full capacity to have things better in order with a IFC, etc

I just visited my fiance yesterday for the first time in 17 months! It was amazing to be able to see him & hug him. However when I did get there the CO's were like "uh....your whole outfit needs to be changed". So they dont mess around with the visitors dress code. Black, brown, and grey are the safest colors. Make sure nothing is tight & that nothing is see through. They almost turned me away a second time cause the straps of my bra were showing up by my neckline. I even saw them turn away a woman in her 60's cause her pants were "too tight"!! No appointments are necessary as of yet. No family visits. Packages are getting delivered but can take a while to actually get to the inmate as they only distribute packages over the weekends. My fiance has been there since Christmas & was one of they very first inmates to arrive there. There is still A LOT of work that needs to be done with in the prison but there has been much improvements since Dec. I was told by the CO's yesterday, that they're almost filled up. I believe they have one more pod to fill up. I know they're chow schedules are getting all screwy with the addition of pod C. But otherwise for any whos loved one has just arrived & is having a hard time adjusting, it will get better they just need to be a little patient. And as for visitors applications, it took about 6 weeks to get my approved.

They have a very picky wand. They even even turned some men away for the metal in there zipper. There is no friends outside so bring 3 outfits to be safe. Also watch the metal clasp in your bra.....if the wand goes off you will not be aloud in to visit, you will have to change clothes. Heels are fine, I seen a woman where sandals to visit with a open back. If you were approved at another facility you should be fine if not they will have you fill out another one. There are lockers available and no appts wre necessary.

I was approved from his last bid. Even though I sent a new application while he was in reception they went off my last application from 2010. They had me fill out another one yesterday. The phones are inside and he should have free access to them whenever. My husband calls everyday. Visits are Saturday and Sunday 8-3. No appt necessary, they use the old school visiting carbon copy form. I was use to vpass making my appointment, but there not on vpass.

Have your son put in a request to see if your approved or call visiting and see since he came from OK.

The prisons usually don't tell you about anyone if there approved. Usually the inmate has to put in a request for who is approved.

She lives in mid-Salinas (near 101 & Alisal by Big Lots), and is 46 years old, Christian, non-smoker, very respectful, and zero drama!

So, if anyone is planning to go to Chow from near Salinas, please let me know. I realize I'm probably at the wrong page here, so please show me or direct me to the proper one?

Lock down again for "training purposes". Breakfast. Outside a few. Then straight back to cell. No shower. He just grabbed the phone fast and told me. I hear it's a big facility for training rookie guards. Also at visiting time yesterday my son was telling a Sargent how there is no air or circulation in his cell and common area, like living in someone else's mouth. The guy said well I hope they fix it for you ubefore it gets over 100*. Then he said you ever watch animall planet and you see the migration of crabs? I'm like yes he said last year there were tarantula clusters that looked like that out of the drains AND snakes (probably after the spiders). Seriously!?!

This place is very very slow on how they operate, all I have to say is bring a can of "patience" when you go visit and don't where anything too tight!

He was endorsed late January and barely left on Tuesday to come back to Cali. He waited almost 3 months to finally be transferred, and from he was telling me that once they are endorsed they have to either see committee again within 90 days or be transferred. So my guess is they waited til they absolutely had to, just a week shy of it being 90 days.

Thank you I am soo happy he is closer now...4 hours away but at least we are in the same state now. :boogie:

Well I called and spoke to the mailroom to ask how many stamps, paper and envelopes are allowed to be sent. I was told that they can have up to 40 stamps and 40 envelopes sent at a time and that we can also send up to 150 pages of writing paper if wanted. This is great for me being that I send him filler paper and try to balance it out with envelopes as well. So the hubby is in for a nice surprise this coming week he will be receiving his stationary ;)

The number to call the mailroom for info regarding housing and mailing address is (760) 246-7600 x7115

It is truly up to the facility as to when they put out the transpac list. They do have 90 days but it all varies some went to committee after him and left before him. Other went a week before him and left on his bus. So it is hard to say it is all up to the facilities.

Cal city is supposed to house about 2500 I'm not sure what they are at yet.

But as I get more info I'll definitely keep you updated.

They are on the original way of visiting with the exception of no line up on the side of the road and old carbon copy form. Sat & Sunday 8-3. Just to warn you DO not wear anything tooo tight or low cut and bring extra clothes cuz theres NO friends outside. OH and dont let any metal be on you including your zipper of your pants, if the metal wand goes off you need to change!! SO dont be alarmed when you visit if you see any men in pajama pants, that happend to my pastor 3 weeks ago he had to change his pants for his zipper!! Like seriously what do they think is going to happen with zipper?

I know right its ridiculous over a zipper to change. But for any reason if that wand goes off you need to change. So also be cautious of your bra on the clasps! Your mom might have to be checked in a room to verify the metal in her . I know they took a woman in there to check her because sure was in a wheel chair.

I think its the right forum. I'm just not sure who will know if stop along the way to CA. That's why I suggested to call and ask TCCF if they will know where they stop or if they do. Maybe someone else who has transferred will know. I would think they would because that's along drive, unless there in charter busses with a bathroom.

An update-they travelled by bus via La Palma, where 30 guys were locked in a 10-person "drunk tank" for the night, then to Ironwood to get gas (but not off the bus), then to LA/Riverside then to CCCF. The CCA bus people were nice, they got McD and BK food, once turned over to the regular (grim) Calif CDC crew they were given a cheese sandwich and no beverage for their meal, and threatened with leaving their property by the side of the road if they didn't behave. . ..
At least he's there now and was very pleased with the size and quality of the breakfast, and even thrilled over getting an apple in the sack lunch. I remind my kids all the time how well they have life on the "outside"!

They didn't have the camera approved yet so I'm not sure about the photos. Drinks, chips and candy $1. Food like a salad was $4. Some other food items like burgers or chicken breaded sandwhices were $2.50-3, but the most expensive was $4.

If they are button fly jeans it might work, didn't see too many people wearing jeans. I would suggest any loose fitting with NO metal!!

Belts should be fine as they have you take it off along with your earrings and rings to be put in a bucket for the guard to check with your shoes, so that type of metal is fine. Capri's are fine as long as there is no metal in them. Any color but blue, army green pants or a tan shirt to match the inmates or guards clothing are fine. I thought gray wasn't approved because of the sweats the guys can wear but I seen some people wearing gray sweats.

Your welcome. Singles are fine or they have a machine that gives $1 coins. It's $50 per adult, I forget what it is for child.....I think it's $25 in a clear purse or ziplock is fine. The clear purse I take the guard checks with my earrings and shoes so it doesn't get the wand or I'm sure it wouldn't be approved lol

Hi All,
My son and 3 other inmates in his pod were given a 90 page questionnaire , they didnt tell him what it was for...it also had his name written on the top of the paper. Does anyone have any idea or have you heard of this before? it had questions like, where will you go when your out, do you have family support, will you re offend, bla bla
He has no idea and has nothing really in common that they could all think of.

It is you'll see when you go visit. I'm sure they have to get it approved by the owners in Tennessee, everything has to get ran by them for approval.

FYI they assign you where to sit and he has to sit in the grey chair. Its the only 1 colored chair and the other 3 are a different color.

That sounds like a mess. I was so used to where he was up north then he was sent a bit closer and then they transferred him out of state. It was laid back up north and we were able to go outside on nice days as well. I guess this will be a learning experience for me again.

Yeah tell me about, I've been to 2 other places and loved it at both of them compared to this place. I'm sure over time it will get better, they just don't know any better right now and have to listen to what back east tells them. That is crazy we used to have 4 guards two inside and two outside. They may have gotten the new warden being that it is now shown on cdcr website as a cdcr prison. Hopefully things do get better, but I also hope he gets out a bit earlier with all the new court orders. That would be awesome for us.

This issues would be good to bring up to an ombudsman, or if they ever get a IFC thing going on.
I hope things continue to improve and thanks to all for posting the nitty gritty on whats up with this place. It helps those who come after all you Trailblazers!

I recall the I old warden saying they were waiting for it to max out before starting a IFC. So its a matter of time....

Hi All,
My son and 3 other inmates in his pod were given a 90 page questionnaire , they didnt tell him what it was for...it also had his name written on the top of the paper. Does anyone have any idea or have you heard of this before? it had questions like, where will you go when your out, do you have family support, will you re offend, bla bla
He has no idea and has nothing really in common that they could all think of.
Yes it means that he might be up for early release if he was told that he had to do 80 percent of his time there releasing them early first then the 85 percent

Isnt Stockton closed? http://articles.latimes.com/2014/feb/05/local/la-me-ff-admissions-closed-in-californias-newest-prison-20140204 I could be wrong but who knows.

Yes sadly they move them so much to make some kinda numbers look good.

I just want my husband comfortable, wherever he goes but this waiting really sucks and is quite sad. God Bless them all.

Thanks for your reply. I called to see if there will be visiting tomorrow and after being on hold a little while the guy said yes there will be. So happy for that. I'll let y'all know what's up after.
