Good Morning!
I have searched this site but not found any information about offenders that have a "lifetime driver's license suspension" that accompanies a conviction of a felony. Is there any avenue to work toward a legitimate way to get a license to drive to work? Anybody have a similar situation?

Also, what are the facts about the registered narcotic offender requirement? Is that time limited? Does it vary state to state. Where do I find the facts about that requirement?
Thanks.
Phyllis

Never heard of this either! Mind, I do know that several states, after a revocation for drug or alcohol intoxication, charge a huge "civil fee" (not to be confused with a fine or anything like that) when one goes to get one's license back. I believe in Minnesota it is somewhere in the range of $750 now, and cannot help but wonder how they expect someone freshly out of incarceration, presumably jobless and possibly homeless, to come up with that kind of money. Of course, that may well be the idea.

You are talking about intoxication while driving, right? Not just generic drug offenses?

In Massachusetts if you are convicted of any drug offense you automatically lose your license for one year and it costs a lot to get it back.
