I know someone who desperately needs a pro bono attorney for their 13 year old never before been in trouble, good natured, naturally kind hearted son, who has been under extreme stress and facing chronic accusations by other members in house, of being the brunt of all the houses crimes, money stolen, and anything that goes wrong, he is first to be named. tenant recently evicted started accusations. now he has been accused of lewdnes with a child, when seeming to "be sexually curious" and event happened on the minor side of the scope, now, he faces 2 felony counts that came about by police tactics of intimidation and scare, and talking alone with him without parent present, made to in own handwriting, do a "Apology Letter" to be "Attatched To" the report....and when anyone reads report the letter also gets read, not under arrest, and done without parent, parent not aware of content of " confesion" between child and officer, child said he exagerrated and agreed to doing things the officers were asking him IF.....he had done or not,,,,and told, quote"if you tell us the TRUTH< you won't have to go that EXTRA MILE' unquote, child assuming he will go home soon, and not do lie detector test threatened by officer next day if not told truth. They said they know truth, and believed child who had possible been prompted by scared parent and also used childs love for movies etc...as a tool to get her to talk, "if you dont tell me truth, i wont let you watch shrek" how creditable is a child known for cusing, and already known sexualy tendencies , by mother previously....no disapline or anything in parental role....anger in child recognized by others, no rules,etc... i want to help her find representation fast for her and her son, because this will make or break him and his future, he is not natured to be like this..........but shes afraid if he is treated as if he is a filthy offender as it is seeming, if convicted will have to register (Hes 13 For Petes Sake!!!) and a wonderful kid.....how can she make people understand she believes the stress and fear and intimidation of living in conditions, like those caused him to act out in a way he normally at no other time ever would have even concieved of acting on....also does anyone know what a 13 yr old boys hormonal sexual physical, balance would react to such conditions and with his emotional state, and cause this type of crap? gldnwolf, I can imagine what you are going through right now. I have legal custody of my God-son. He live with me until he was 10 years old. While he was living with his bio. grandmother, he was accused of two sexual acts on younger kids. I had to take him to the police dept. and the detective talked to him, and threated him with a lie detector test, said they knew he done what was said, etc.... I was in there with him, the first act was said to have been done in front of other kids on a bus. The second act was supposed to have happened with just him and the vicitm alone. The second victim is midly retarded. Not saying she is stupid, but you would have to know the family. Well he finally said he done the second one, but denied the first one. The court sent him to classes for sexual offenders through mental health. This way he didn't get felony charges. He was 11 when these happened, first victim was 9, second victims was 5. After about 3 or more months of not participating in the classes, mental health kicked him out. To this day he denies any of this and refuses to talk about it. He is in a group home now, has been since 5-02. He has gotten worse. He has been AWOL 6 times in the past 3 days. The police want him moved because they are tired of moving him. He even ran yesterday in just his boxers, no shoes or short. He got picked up by the police for stealing at Toys R Us. He actually hung up on me today, so I told the staff at the group home I would be there tomorrow and I was bringing my belt. Because if he cusses me, I'm going to whip his butt. His real family talks junk about me all the time, and it makes me mad that they say things to him about me. I've never let anyone say anything about his famiy, even though they have never wanted anything to do with him. He ran over there the other day, and they was saying stuff about me. They are the ones that are in and out of jail, on drugs, etc... That is why I took him, to get him away from it. So they can just kiss my A$$. But I hope everything works out for you and the kid. I would hate to see an innocent kid get charges. And for the family to go through all the sh_t I go through.
