I'm so upset! I've had some problems getting my new AZ DL (just moved here from WI) and so I haven't been able to register to vote today! So everybody that can vote, go for it!! Let's fix some of AZ's problems!

I worked the polls yesterday. All the precincts were understaffed because they couldn't get poll workers. We were co-located with another precinct in the same room, and my precinct was one person short and the other precinct was two people short. We worked from 5 am to 9 pm, and had 138 people come through our precinct and the other group had ony 61. They pay about $125 per person (varies depending on the particular position) so those votes cost more than $5 each, just in staffing fees.

They need to go to mail in voting for the primaries. No one comes out to vote, but they still have to staff the precincts at horrendous costs. There are over 1100 precincts in Phoenix alone. That's our tax dollars they are spending. It is a tremendous amount of work for the poll workers just setting up and taking down, especially when understaffed, because you have only about an hour to get everything set up and prepared in the morning, then you sit there for 13 hours and no one comes. We averaged 10 people per hour.

Unfortunately we have always had a low voter turn out, especially during primary elections. But I was probably one of the ten people you saw come through the doors:D

Im so glad Munsil is in the running now against Napolitano. If anything is going to change for the better for our loved ones, I believe it will start with getting HER out of office! Just my :twocents:
