Activity" Prompts Solano Prison Lockdown

Written for the web by Jason Kobely (jkobely@news10.net), Internet News Producer

Prisoners at California State Prison, Solano were locked down and visitors were turned away Saturday following "activity" this morning involving inmates, prison officials said.

A statement was expected around 1 p.m. explaining the apparent incident.

Check back to News10.net for updated information as it becomes available.

Let us know more if you find out what type of activity the news report was referring to? This has gotten me curious.

UPDATE - Information Posted by Sassy7 in the "CSP Solano in Vacaville Incident Today - Any information?" thread -

Has anyone heard anything about the shooting incident a short while ago at Solano. From the little information I received it appears that families were visiting in the Level 3 visting room and heard a barage of gun fire. The incident happened on Yard 1. Two ambulances with a police escort were seen leaving the prison just a little after 11:00 this morning.

I have called several radio and tv stations. They have heard rumors but nothing has been sustandiated yet. I also called the fire dept on Alamo Drive around the corner from the prison and they said they were not the ones who responded to the call.

My husband is on yard one and I am freakin frantic. I called the Chaplin on his cell phone and left a message. As you can see I am on pins and needles.

Y'all I need help here if you have any info at all please let me know.
Thanks
