7 FOR FATIGUE

Dissolve a desertspoon of honey in warm water or quarter honey balance of water in a jug and keep in the fridge. Honey is primarily fructose and glucose and so it is quickly absorbed by the digestive system. Honey is a unique natural stabilizer - ancient Greek athletes took honey for stamina before competing and as a reviver after competition.

17 BABY'S BOTTLE

Four teaspoons of honey to a baby's bottle of water is an excellent pacifier and multivitamin additive. If baby's motions are too liquid then reduce by half a teaspoon; if too solid, increase by half a teaspoon.

Honey rubbed on a baby's gums is a mild sedative and anesthetic.

19 OSTEOPOROSIS

What a great list, Soraya! Only thing I would add ~ make sure you don't give honey to babies under 1 yr. old. Honey has botulism causing spores which can be fatal in infants, while very safe for adults and older children.

Sure, Soraya. I wasn't sure if I was remembering correctly. My pediatrician told me this when Max was a baby, but you're so sleep-deprived at that stage, I wanted to make sure I got it right. So I looked it up again and sure enough, no honey for babies! Not something you'd think of as harmful, but there you go!

When I was growing up on a farm, we had many natural remedies. I was too young to remember them all but I know that we used honey for many things. Maybe that's why I don't like to eat it now. I was raised on it. I always remember chewing honey comb straight from the bee hives. We had 8 hives. My dad use to tend to them until one time a bad storm came and destroyed them. After that, we got honey from the store. :)

PS:

I was told honey and peanut butter is bad for babies. Sometimes it makes them choke because it's too thick for them to swallow.
