I will post this request for information in the Michigan forum as well, but if anyone has any information on this please let me know.

Specifically, I'm trying to find out if there is a law that the Michigan Secretary of State is required to issue a restricted license to a parolee (of a DUI conviction) after their release.

Thanks for your help!!

::hugs::

::HUGS:: thank you both very much... I had actually looked at the Secretary of State website; it does have a lot of information (maybe too much!) but unfortunately, it really doesn't specifically state whether a restricted license is required to be given to a parollee by statute. It would make sense (in a way) inasmuch as they expect parollee's to get a job within a very limited amount of time, and it would be difficult to get a job without a license to transport yourself to and from your job, but I do know it is possible (with either carpooling or public transportation) to do that, so that's why I was curious. Steve had heard something about this at Egeler (but then again there's a bunch of stuff people talk about inside that is NOT true)...

so I was curious if anyone knew about something being required for parollee's specifically...

thank you tho for the help...
