 Hello Just talked to my fiance and he said that they now have new visitng rules and the are as follows: 1) The inmates are no longer allowed to get up from their chair unless they are getting pictures done , going to the restroom or departing from the visit . 2) They are no longer allowed to go stand by the vending machines or the microwaves with their family . 3) They were allowed to wear the light colored Kahaki out fit out for visit they were taken away and no longer allowed . There for most of the men at the Low Complex has to get new visiting clothes for visits only .

I have 14 months left of this crap and we are finished with him being behind those bars . Then 3 years paper . I can not wait til it is over with .

At FCI Waseca, they aren't allowed to get up either and the wives/girlfriends aren't even allowed to sit next to them, we have to sit across the table.

I visited weekend before last and the staying seated part was true but people were still wearing fed khaki. What are they suppose to wear now? I'm sure something else I will have to buy. 12-06 no more bars.

My family is going down to visit my brother for the first time on Sunday. He is in Forrest City Low. He heard something about people lining up on the highway to get in? Can anyone tell me more about this?? Thanks!

My hubby is in the camp now but was at one time in the low - I have been visiting Forrest City for a few years and I have never seen anyone lined up on the highway :)

Lined up on the highway??Good grief ...No.....I just got back from there..((all of the facilities are in the same area)) the 9 hour drive from Houston was the absolute worst part....there was hardly any wait to get in the facility to see my fiance((what I mean is them paging Rock, getting a CO to take us back to the visiting areaand Rock actually arriving in a fair amount of time,))processing went pretty smooth ((we visited the Medium)),the CO's that were on duty this long weekend were ok.. no rude behaviour..everyone was pretty decent to us .
We thought that with the long weekend & all that it would be crowded ...but all 3 facilities were quiet ,not crowded, and no lines what so ever.
Just remember to take a change of clothes with you just in case.. my son wore the wrong pants.. he wore those running type parachute material ones that all the boys wear.. those type that are running pants....well.. those are a no no . Good thing we still had his over night bag in the car. He just ran out and switched to jeans .
The no no's are Khaki colors & orange. NO FLIP FLOPS,BUT .. nice sandals, open toe dress shoes, and skirts of decent length& capris seemed to be just fine.
Other than that, they have their rules..the inmates have to sit opposite of their visitors, they can't get up and move around except to use the restroom.. we can hug and kiss when we get there and when we leave.. and we held hands the whole time of our visit.
Over all ,given the obvious circumstances,it was a great visit. The way that I look at it is this.. I am so extremely happy that we got to see Rock-E, that I would have done just about anything to get there .I wouldn't trade anything for the look on his face when he came out of that door and saw us waiting for him. The most important thing is getting to see my man ... sure ....it's pretty rediculous that they can't eat with us or go to the little vending area, but that's the rules...we can't change those. We can enjoy the time we have..and not look at the down side.. that would just destroy the good part.

Nope.. no need to wait on the highway....the biggest wait THAT WE ENCOUNTERED WAS ON SATURDAY...and there was 4 people in the waiting room plus us... me and my son...they were trying to find a CO that could come get us and take us back as a group.. they were short staffed that day.. we waited about 25 minutes, til one of the CO'S came off his lunch break.Other than that,we parked right up by the front door.. there were only about 20 cars in the parking lot on the visitor side..everything went smooth as that.

i have been visiting FOrrest City Low since 5-05. There were times that I would get there right at eight am and not get processed until after count 10:45 which meant getting in at noon. People that wanted in by eight would tell me they would get there at 5 or 6 am. You werent alllowed to be on fed property until eight so they would wait on the main road. It was no big surprise to wait 2 hours plus on Sat or Sun. I tried to go on Mon. BUT something has changed I went Sun 9-10 to the low and got right in . I have never seen it like that. The co said everyone had come the weekend before holiday weekend. There is some truth to what you were told

I have been going one day per weekend for the last year. I get there at 5:15 a.m., line up on the highway and wait until 7:45 a.m. At 7:45 a.m. we are allowed to enter onto the federal property at which time we will get out of our cars and line up in the order we were in line on the highway. (This may explain why those who come after 8:00 don't see us.) I am usually in the visiting room by 8:30. I have done this every weekend for over a year and can positively without a doubt tell you that yes, we do line up on the highway. It beats standing in the back of the line and taking the chance of not getting back until after count. Hope this info helps.
