Deep Meadow will begin extending visits past one hour if there are empty tables. You will still get a minimum of one hour, but if they don't need the table, you will get to stay longer.

Last week the visits were extended for people who came early in the morning. I couldn't get there until today and I got almost 2 hours! The entire attitude and morale in the visiting room is so much better. So instead of trying to get in for count, go first thing in the morning and you will get extra time. :D

this is exciting to know. I have to drive 3 1/2 hours to get to deep meadows. It would be wonderful to be able to stay longer than an hour. I've only been able to visit him once in the 3 months he has been there and he had to talk the nurse into that one. Hasn't had much luck since. So when I do get to visit again i'ts wounderful to know that you made it possible to spend alittle extra time. Thanks so much.

what time is the best time in the morning to get ther?

They open the window at 8:30. The earlier you get there, the better. I got there about 8:45 on Sunday and got inside by 9:10. Those ahead of me got over an hour and a half. I was kicked out at 10:29. So if the tables fill up by 10:30, the sooner you get in, the longer your visit.

Everyday at 12:30 they do count. You are locked in there until it clears, which takes about an hour. So if you time it right, and get in right after 11:30, you could get two hours. Problem is, if you don't get in, you have to wait over an hour for count to clear and you can go in. I got caught twice that way and waited 2 and a half hours to get in. So I started going early so I get right in. Also, it is always busy the weekend after the 1st of the month.

I am so glad that you made this change happen for everyone. I drive almost 2 1/2 hours up and back so almost 5 hours driving time. We have only been to see him 2 times in the past 5 months cause of the long drive and the gas. We got there after count both times and only got an hour. I will take the advice and try to get there early in the morning and hopefully we can have a longer visit.

yeah, i think we need to write the warden again, because deep meadow waiting time is just crazy< so i will get on that soon.

Starting November 18, visitors will have to check into the record building, the small one before you get to the visitor's parking lot, and make sure there is room in the visiting room before heading to the regular window to check in.

okay so will it be this saturday, they are doing this? because i am not shure were the record building is?? and they keep losing my name and info, in there sysetem, and its getting on my nerves.

The records building is the first small building you come to on the right as you enter the compound past all the fields and the white fences. There is a small parking lot in front of it and a few more spaces across the road. I have no idea if we now have to park in the regular lot, walk back up to the records building and then back down to the regular building. I asked the guards yesterday and they told me the processing that is normally done in the two lines at the regular building will now be at the records building. When there is room in visiting, you will be called to go down to the regular building and be patted down, etc, then you can go on in.

I am going to call out there and ask for verification on all this and hopefully have all my questions answered. I will report back!!
