I'm wondering if others are having the same problem I'm having?

I mark each forum read, wait until the system is done, close that forum (opened in a new window) and reload the forum list page. That forum comes back with an "X", until I've done this a number of times and that forum shows up as new "U", read again to find it's the sames as when I marked it "read", no one had added anything and on it goes for the rest of the forums I've already read and marked.

I'm wondering if it's my browser IE6?

I DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO MARK A FORUM "READ" CAN YOU ENLIGHTEN ME?

When you first come into a forum, at the upper right (just above the listings) there is a button called "mark this forum read".

That is suppost too change the flashing New to old or "X" on the forum(s) list page once you reload that page.

That's the only way I can keep up with what is going on in here with so many forums and sub-forums that y'all keep mighty busy.

maybe you can try this. since you open a forum in a new window, mark is as read and just refresh that forum. Maybe it just takes a while before it takes action.
another way to keep up is to use the 'view new posts' option (also on the right top in the blue box). that's how I do it....and of course use the email option

Another problem, the PM popup telling when there's a new message, doesn't always work either. I got one when I first entered the site and found another one there from 2 days ago. I guess I'll just have to check that daily also??

no normally when you get that pop-up, you click yes to open in a new window and then hit your refresh button. you should be able to see the new PM there. or in your'options' you can request an email notification to receive an email when you have a new PM.

I guess I should use that email for PM's.
