Hi guys!

My fiance was just moved to chuckawala this morning and i have so many questions!

How long until he can call me? and do they have collect calls only, or calling cards, or prepaid? should i call MCI and make sure he can call? can he call my cell or my home phone only?(i havent talked to him since 4th of july :(

How are the conditions there? my man is level 2 and has a little over a year to do. this is his first time in jail or prison, so i worry about him. are there a lot of lockdowns? fights? are the CO's decent?

How is the mail? it was taking a week for him to get my letters at wasco, and im wondering how long til he gets mail there. and how long do your letters take?

Will the money on his books follow him immediately, or should i make sure he has more so he can buy whatever he needs? and how soon til he can recieve his first quarterly package?

I guess thats all for now, i havent been approved to visit and wont be for a while (i have a pending court case) so i dont have to worry about that stuff now, unfortunatley. havent seen my baby since march 3rd and im going crazy! i just want him to call!! any information would be REALLY appreciated!

Im not from chuckys house, however i can answer a few of your questions, because some of those are the same for all prisons.

Regarding the phone its all collect calls from MCI no prepaid,calling cards nothing. The calls have to be from a land line; no cell phones no nothing. Normally. it comes on your phone bill, however, i hear people can make arrangements with MCI and put deposit down and when the deposit runs out your phone gets blocked until you add more money or just get it on your regular phone bill.. some people do that, so they wont get huge bills at the end of there billing cycle.. Then again some people get that prison online. Not familiar with that.

As for money on there books, it follows them where ever they go.
chuckys neigborhood its hot! very hot.. its in the middle of the desert..
Mail issues, hmm there was a thread on here about a month or 2 months ago about people complaining about chuckys mail, so id go hunt that thread down...

thanks for the info, that helps! he was able to call me today, so we're figuring this all out together. im not looking forward to the phone bill though, we spent close to three hours on the phone today, but it was worth it! i missed him while he was in reception and we had a lot to catch up on!

Hi Maggie, and welcome. My husband is a guest at Chuckie's house. I will try to help you with what I know. You should be able to get calls as soon as he gets there, unless there is a block on your phone. All calls go thru MCI. They are in the process of switching everyone over from billing thru your local company to a direct bill with them (MCI). When this happens, they will limit you to $100 and then block until you pay the balance down. I am not sure what they will limit you to as long as they are billing thru your local company.

As for conditions, my hubbie says overall it's ok. Hot as all get out. They are close to the Arizona border. Depends on which yard he gets sent to, etc.

I personally do not have mail issues there. The mail takes a few days, but it gets thru.

The money on his books will follow but it could take a minute. It's up to you if you want to put some on his account there. You can use JPay to do it. As for quarterly packages, if you have not yet sent him one for this quarter (July-Sept) you should be able to send him one. You have to use one of their vendors...have your guy check out which one he wants to use. My hubbie got a catalog and sent me item numbers of stuff he wanted...he mostly wanted a fan cuz like I said, it is HOT there.:) I think we used Union's but as I said, there are several you can use.

Thank you so much for the info! I just sent out a package this week, he got a hold of an access catalogue and when he called he told me what he wanted (main thing was some shoes and a fan) so i did that. he said that becuase he was just moved, he may not get the package for a few weeks....is that true?? i talked to access and it has already arrived at CVSP.

As far as the phone, i was able to get calls (yeah!!!) but now im dealing with MCI and setting up an account, like you described. i have to fax them a bill and all this mumbo jumbo. but im working through it all. glad that its not too horrible int here, my hubby tries to keep some of what goes on from me, because i tend to worry (as you can probibly tell by my post) but he did say its really hot there and right now its hard for him to even sleep :( hopefully he gets the fan soon.

4th oct, nov,dec..

No, he should be able to get the package, unless he received a package for that quarter already.
Have you tried that jpay thing yet maggie???

thanks mocksie! yeah, i was able to get him a little money right now until his stuff gets moved over from reception. hopefully he gets his package soon.
