I just wanted to say what GREAT visits my daughter and I had this last week. She's 6 and just met my bf for the first time. I was real unsure of how she would react.I was somewhat 'creative' in telling the truth w/out lying cause she wouldn't understand some things and I am worried of what she would say to others, not everyone in my life "knows".

Maddie was a bit apprehensive about some things the wait, having her hand marked for the first time, etc. But the next day it was "old hat" to her. She and Bryan had already developed a good relationship through the mail and sending each other various things. After the intial meeting where she hid her eyes cause we kissed :p She ran up to Bryan everytime and was eager to visit again. We tried to make it as normal for her as possible.
The many choices in toys, games, and various vending machines helped ALOT! She was pleased Bryan let her get whatever "junk" she wanted and Mom didn't say NO! Bryan was a little surprised at what I do as he used to babysit alot but has no kids of his own. I got a good laugh at his having to 'field THOSE q's'!And read some looooong books to her! I just laughed NOW he sees why his letters are my saving grace!!!
A very nice CO was there he & Bryan have some things in common they are quite friendly. This is a "BIG deal" because Bryan is AB and this man is black. He knew Maddie wasn't Bryan's child but remarked at how much she looked and acted like him!:D Many others did as well and Bryan never corrected them, she may be the only child we have. Also this CO shared a huge pad of paper and pens for Maddie to draw with, she LOVES to do this! I thought that was so nice and MUCH appreciated as it is usually not allowed!
Also Bryan SHOCKED me,AGAIN! But in a GOOD way! 2-3 other black guys went by us as well, other inmates on his block I assume, and said "HI Bryan" and acknowledged us and Bryan responded(I only know a couple of his friends there) and I was SOOOO impressed that's a BIG step for Bryan he is known as an "Aryan" and all that entails. He has been working very hard in many areas to be ready for possible release when the time comes and am glad he seems to be maturing in all ways as well:) Thank you for "listening" to my story it will be a time I will never forget!

THX....Maddie is now making sure I am saving $ for our next "vacation" and trip to see Bryan :) She wants to have summer vacation in PA every summer now!(We were there for a week) I'm glad she can't wait to go back and that she loves Bryan too.
