I have a question about medical care. Felix is very sick and during sentencing the judge put in the sentence that he was to be taken to the nearest facility to home that could attend to his medical needs. We were under the impression that he would be taken to a medical facility but learned today that he is going to FCI Jessup. I am very happy about the proximity to home but am concerned as to whether he will receive the care he needs. So far he has received very poor care and I am very worried about this. Are all the facilities able to handle his conditon and if not what should I do at this point??? Felix has had cancer in the past and we are fairly sure that it has returned. He is very sick and I would like to feel confident that this facility can provide the needed care.

First of all, I'm sorry to hear Felix is so sick. I'm not sure on this, but I think you can write the head of the medical departement and ask him or her to explain to you what they can and can't do in case the cancer return. And if you feel there's a lack of the needed medical care, you might write his judge to ask to get him transferred. Since the judge said he should be taken to a Medical Facility, they declined his order?

I'm sure there will be others who can give you better advise though
