View Full Version : Thieving CO's in the mail room
patcutie4 08-24-2006, 11:13 AM :( I think it is messed up that a person can't send out a drawing to a friend for her birthday because someone in the mailroom stole it out of the envelope. All I received was the letter. The drawing was on a piece of cotton material it was of a Mexican village with the words Viva Mexico. I usually get the drawings and copy them and send it back to the artist so he can have a piece of his work still. But this greedy, thieving :blah: mailroom person kept it for themselves. How could they consider themselves better then the inmates if they take what doesn't belong to them. I am upset because this drawing was for me not for them and the artist spent a lot of time on it, at least I give him back a copy, now it is gone. But God knows and sees all. I hope you all get your little presents from your people. Our mail is all we have to connect us and if they start stealing that we have nothing. He has been in Adseg Calipatria for over a year now and I get the mail within 3 days but I dont like that the mailroom can take out my drawings.

I to have had drawings removed from the letters sent to me. Some think they are above the law and GOD.

My son just wrote me and told me that he never got the 2 books of stamps that i had put in a letter i mailed him. Makes me wonder what else they have taken from inmates mail?
TerriB 08-25-2006, 09:57 AM You need to find out from your friend why it was taken out, it should have a note with it, my guess is it was because it was on material, which we all know can be soaked in drugs but I do NOT know, he would receive notice WHY though ...IF he didn't well I would be making some phone calls, also have him 602 that as well perhaps he can get it back.
About the stamps, have you son 602 that, the mail rooms all over the prisons have extra stamps, if he is persistant enough they will give him more from their stash ... ALSO just a tip on what to do... enclose in the letter there are X amount of books of stamps then TAPE them with tiny pieces of scotch tape to the inside of the envelope!!! That will keep them secure so they can't say they just "FELL" out we didn't see them or know about them. I know when I send things, I will also write on the outside of the envelope that STAMPS are included ;)
TheForgoten1 08-25-2006, 01:40 PM Thats Messed Up And Latley I Been Sending These Bad Ass Stamps He Got Two Books So Far I Sent Him A New Book With Motorcylce Stamps They Better Not Say It Fell Out Cause Its A Sheet But I Do Write His Name Back Of Stamps They Suck My Babe Said He Had Sent Me Something In Mail Just A Poem And It Was Not In Letter I Was Upset Becasue In Letter He Said I Hope U Like It They Are Shady Sometimes
patcutie4 08-25-2006, 02:02 PM The drawing was on a piece of material being sent to me. I have received one before with no problems. But since this drawing was a Viva Mexico drawing and alot of the CO's are hispanic they took a liking to it. My friend didn't get a note and neither did I in reference to the missing item. I dont send him books of stamps I send him prestamped envelopes. There are certain things that these guys trade for to have a necklace or drawing done for their family on the outside. So when the gift never gets to it's destination you have an inmate who is upset and lost out on his trade on the inside. If the CO's want peace they shouldn't take what is not intended for them. My friend has put in the report and done all that paper work but the problem is the CO's can do anything the want to the inmate and no one will stop them because it's not that big of a deal in their eyes but to the inmate it is. You get what you give and if there is no respect, them you have a mad house.
t_r818 08-26-2006, 01:21 AM That is weak about the mail room!! i have heard rumors of how they dont care but this confirms it!! THEY SWEAR!!! well like said ==karma will always come round no matter what!! i am a firm believer in karma!!! mail is the only way me and my guy communicate currently and to hear this is will make me think twice about what i send!!
Thanks for the information All!
BlessedLady35 08-26-2006, 01:36 AM I started writing my husbands name and ID# on the back of the set of stamps i sned him now...just to be sure! I think I am becoming a pro at this. I refuse to let the system bring us down!
ToAsTy 08-26-2006, 02:18 AM I'm sorry to hear that they took the picture. I painted a picture for my man on a piece of stretched canvas. They took it, well they didn't give it to him but told him that he couldn't have it because it was metal!. I'm not that stupid, neither are they. So my question is, is there any way to get the items back after they have been taken or just rejected?.
jdcjmc1 08-26-2006, 03:30 AM they are suppose to ask the inmate what they want done with the item.. If the inmate says send it home they take the money off their books and pay whatever it costs to send it back home.
NOTICE I SAID SUPPOSE TO...

Cheetoes1 08-27-2006, 09:35 AM When you send stamps, Money Orders, paper and envelopes in the mail, ALWAYS write what the contents in the envelope are on the outside!!!

patcutie4 08-28-2006, 09:50 AM It's funny how we all have to follow the rules for what we send in to our loved one's but the CO's don't have to follow God's rule of thou shall not steal. Have a blessed day. Everyone.
Drakys*wife 09-24-2006, 12:56 PM Hi ladies, my man has had the same thing happend to him before to, drawings disappearing. He's learned when he does a drawing to be sure to but a name on it because he said usually they can't do anything w/it because it's personalized. Hope this helps, I know it really frustrates him!
