hi all, my boyfriend is being held at brooklyn mdc. they will soon sentence him. i heard that they won't accept me as a visitor because i am not immediate family. i've called his counselor and the counselor said that he needs to fill out a form. he already has his mother, his daughter's mother (baby momma lol) and daughter on the visit list, and they visit him about once a month. do you think they will approve me if his daughter's mom is already on the list? i mean, i'm only his girlfriend. he's gotten me on the phone list, and he calls me everyday. we've been together since before he was arrested. do you think they will be more lenient on whos allowed to visit after his sentencing? thanks!

p.s. does anyone know what a cadre is? and are they more lenient on visits? he tells me he will get me on the visit list if he can get into cadre?

You will most likely NOT be approved to visit prior to him being sentenced. Once he is sentenced, if he's still at the MDC, you may be able to be approved, because their regulations change for the sentenced prisoners. Not sure, but my guess would be that "cadre" means "work cadre" - like a work crew. Z.

Once he is sentenced, you will more than likely be able to be approved, providing you pass the background check.
If his counsellor at the MDC has said that he needs to fill out a form to get you approved, i would suggest that you talk to him about getting it done.
