there are so many of us wives, girlfriends, mothers, family, friends etc. going through all of the struggles of "prison". with visitation, phone calls, rules, etc etc.. all of it is hard. i am looking for anyone interested in meeting & helping one another out. if you have a loved one in an az prison, lets all get to know each other. why not be friends when we have so much in common? i look forward to hearing from anyone who feels the same way. please respond, thank you lora

im so glad to see that others feel the same way! as far as a plan, man i have so many;) ;) but i think first is see how many folks are interested. we have a great start, the more the better. we all need to get to know each other, and from there, how we can all help one another. tell anyone you know who is in the same spot we are! soon well all have to meet.

Sounds like a nice idea, but would depend where you meet and when. Many things on the plate right now. Do I just keep checking back here to hear new updates on plans?

Yes, I will most likely visit here everyday too I don't have anyone who understands why I will wait for my Husband to get out of prison instead of divorcing him. People change and evolve. But most people condemn me. It helps to connect with people who understand

lefay, i just wanna say that i know exactly how your feelin. although i do have a few people who "try" to be supportive. but none that understand. its hard to find people who truley do wait for their partners. i feel like mine is completely worth the wait. i look forward to getting to know you.

I guess we never know exactly how we will feel until it happens I can't imagine living the rest of my life without my husband. There has never been a thought of leaving. We all make mistakes; we are all human My prayer is that we learn and grow from our experiences so we don't have to do it again.

Ya know, I see things I never noticed before, like "friends" involved in white-collar crimes who think that it is not the same as the people who are caught and put behind bars. Yet these same people condemn others so easily.

My guy is in safford and im in oregon the trips there are so expensive it would be awesome to stay with somebody when i come and we could share stories and cry together and of course it would save me a fortune in motel bills!!!! at the very least this is a great place thanks lorachad !

absolutely, now that was exactly the type of thing i was hoping to accomplish!! i live in phoenix wich is nowhere near safford (sorry) but i hope you can find someone able to help you as well. we are all having to do all of these major tasks just to be there for our partners. and we all know first hand how hard it is. that is why i ask anyone who can in anyway, help one another, because you know how much you would appreciate some help being offered to you .

" i hear ya girl". luv your attitude!! and your right we have to take the next step. as far as your question, personally i dont think there should be any "rules". you unfortunatly have a loved one in prison, wich is what we all have in common. that is the hole purpose behind doing this, so we could each help one another (and get help as well) and at least just open a line of communication with folks who understand and are going through all of the same things. i feel like we all have enough rules (& hoops to jump through) lol im not gonna try to add in any more. look forward to meeting you

I would like to meet with you folks too! My husband is in Calipatria, CA but my best friend is in Ft. Grant, Safford. (Chery, I'm about 2 hours from Safford, you're welcome anytime!), a brother-in-law in Wilmot here in Tucson, and a friend in Buckeye! I hate AZ cause you can be on only one persons visiting list at a time with 90 days inbetween! And only people who are on the visiting lists can receive phone calls! Ft. Grant also just doubled their phone rates!! So yes, we do need to stick together!!

Count me in. I live up in Prescott, but am in the valley all the time. I have a very close friend at Lewis in Buckeye. If you all wanted to get out of the heat you could carpool up here. Prescott is just gorgeous this time of year.

I am new to the site another "outmate" told me about this site last weeekend. I am in Tucson and my man is in Winslow - Coronado Unit. I am into trying to be apart of any support group that encourages change and better treatment of inmates! I just found out in July that my old friend was in prison so I am new to the whole process myself and have been disgusted by the way the prison system is here in Arizona and especially the treatment of the inmates! They are already being punished by their freedom being taken anyway and all most all contact with their friends, family, and loved ones. And then there are also mistreated by power abusing C.O.'s. And us as visitors are being treated with non-courtesy and disrespect by the same offend unprofeesional guards. All of it makes me want to actively help cause change and I think that can only be done if we all, the family and friends stick together and demand reforms for ADC. So bottom line count me in especially since I had my visitation suspended this week for 30 days!

im glad to see we are all on the same page. my ol man is in tucson(rincon unit) and we also had our visits suspended. im going crazy now. plus i also have some of my good friends in other prisons in az also. that is one reason im pushing this "outmate" thing so much. we are not alone, although it sure seems that way . i think ill post our get together sepratly and hopefully get a better response so we can start planning it finally. welcome aboard you guys. lets stick together.

I live in the Glendale/Peoria area (NW Metro Phoenix Valley). There is a huge historical park right across the street from me. We have get togethers there often. It's a pretty nice place. I only have 47 days by myself left (hopefully), but wouldn't mind meeting up with people that understand my situation. If anyone wants to meet up, just let me know. I am usually available. The 2nd week in January would be great! Were you thinking of a centrally located park her in Phoenix? I've noticed there are quite a few users in Mesa/Tempe/Chandler area. There's got to be a happy median. Or were you thinking of leaving Phoenix to do it?

I would love to be there, but I work tuesday through saturday usually 9 am to 6 pm. I can try to switch work days with someone, but saturday is our busiest day in the animal business.

hey my guys in Arizona system hes just in texas because of overcrowding ..I used to drive from Pho to tucson every weekend...anyone with visitng problem or anyone whos hubby been sent to texas ..we could get to gether rent a car or something
