Well, he got reclassified while he was at DCF, to A custody, but he asked to stay put (he was training his dog). Long story short, according to the MDOC website he is now at MSP!!!!!!! He supposedly was being recommended for "pre-release" whatever that is... website says he is in Unit 25. I've been trying to call and find out an exact mailing address. Oh this sucks!! I can't wait for it to be over! December 2 seems so far away now. We were finally feeling comfortable with DCF, and then he gets moved for his last 3.5 months. :( :( :( :( Anybody know anything about any of the babbling coming out of my mouth???????

i'm sorry he got moved against yall's wishes. hopefully he will be able to get in touch with you soon and let you know what happened. if i were you, i'd try writing him a letter at the address they've given for him right away. that way he will have some comfort of knowing you are aware of what happened just in case he isn't able to contact you soon himself. i hope everything works out and december comes asap!!!

This may not be totally correct, but you should be able to get mail to him at Parchman by setting up the recieving address like this:

His Name and MDOC #
Unit 25
Parchman, MS 38738

My ex-husband was sent to Unit 25 for pre-release even though he was closer to home in the facility he was moved from. The programs in that unit are supposedly set up to help him with dealing with the outside world. I didn't have contact with my ex but I would assume that they would be giving him information to help him find employment and housing. As far as I know, that unit has visitation on Sundays. If he is A custody, that should be every Sunday except for when there is a 5th Sunday.

Excellent, thank you!!! I don't know how they'll be able to help him with employment, he's a pilot, already has a resume' (10 miles long!) and won't be looking for jobs or housing in MS. But oh well. They just don't care what better suits the inmate or his family! Makes me so mad! I called MSP and spoke to a telephone administrator who was very helpful, and she gave me a # to get a prepaid account set up. Apparently it'll block him from calling unless we have one (we had one with Delta via ICS too, so no biggie) but I'm wondering if I'll even know he's trying to call? So I'm doing that and getting a letter in the mail on my way home from work. What a day!!! Ugh!!! Thanks for the kind words and helpful info!!!

Hi,

If he tries to call before you get the Prepaid set up with CBS (I presume) then you will get a call with a recorded message from CBS letting you know to call them. It confused the heck out of me, getting that recorded call at first!

Sorry for the extra stress but wow, so little time left! Breathe and take care of you.:)

Wow, I can already tell that I hate CBS!!! I was on terminal hold with them forever last night trying to figure out why it was coming through as a collect call instead of prepaid. I'm so used to dealing with ICS, where it says prepaid call, and gives me the account balance.

I called CBS today to see if my 2 calls from yesterday posted. They did, along with another call from 8/14!!! That's impossible, because I just created the account yesterday, and any calls from before then were placed from DCF via ICS!!!!! This sucks!!!!!!!!!!! GRRRRRRRR
