My daughter and I went to the county fair here last week. She had a ball, she is just so much fun to watch. I had decided to take her to a concert. I wanted her to have her first and being at the fair they aren't as loud.
Well we went opening day and Darryl Worley (Country Western Singer) was the one we went to see.
We were waiting in line for an autograph and out came this guy that said there would be no pictures with Darryl. He didn't have time, that he was only doing autograph. I thought I don't care I just want his autograph for her baby book. I had a picture of him you had to buy one for 5 bucks for him to autograph. All I wanted was something from her first concert for when she grew up.
Then his band came out and they walked right over to my daughter and one of them gave her a guitar pick that Darryl used. He bent down and said oh darlin you are such a sweetie. She just smiled at him, by now the whole krew was around her. He asks me if he could pick her up. She uses a walked to walk with.
I said yes and of course I took pictures. It was funny she had them wrapped in about 2 minutes. Then Darryl came out and was behind this big table signing autographs. We went over there and as soon as she handed him her picture to sign. He signed it but then came out from behind the table and said come here sweetheart and was holding her and talking to her. She was just a smiling and so was he.
He asks her for a kiss on the cheek. She looked at me and I told her go ahead. She kissed him on the cheek and he just smiled and told her I'll never wash this cheek again.
Of course I was taking pictures. This lady asks if she could have her picture taken with him and his manager said they weren't taking pictures with Darryl. ( I ducked)
Anyway at the end he said he wished his brother could meet her. As we were walking away the Krew got our email to give to Darryl.
His brother and him have a foundation that help people who have medical problems. They do alot of stuff with St. Jude hospital.
So all that was exciting, I wish he would have held me on his lap like he did her.......:D
The middle of September we are going to the State fair, but no concert. No one I really want to see. But she loves the fair and especially horses. From Oct until April, she is in a program called Hope for Horses. It allows special needs kids to ride horses and bond with them. So because of that program she loves horses.
School also started here the 5th of September.
Ok I have blabbed on long enough. I just wanted to share our encounter with a country western star.
