not much information on this site about donovan unfortunaetly. Please post things that you do when you send mail or go visit. Also send things that you know are not permitted. For instance, the lines to visit are usuall pretty long so arrive early.

MY MAiiN CONCERN IS I WANT TO SEE WHO ELSE HAS SENT ENVELOPES AND PAPER WITHIN A REGULAR LETTER AND GOT AWAY WITH IT?

ALSO, WHEN SENDING IN THE MANILLA ENVELOPE WITH THE TWENTY ENVELOPES AND THE 20 PIECES OF PAPER, RECEPTION INMATES CAN RECEIVE THIS?

You can send the manila envelopes with supplies to an inmate in reception. I always send one stamped envelope in the regular sized letter envelope WITH a handwritten letter from me to my man. Just fold it in three parts and put it in the envelope with the letter that you are already sending. I never have to put more than one 39 cent stamp on the outside, I just put one stamp.

prestamped envelopes are good to use plus it's two-in-one.

I send 20 sheets of writing paper every single time I write my husband (which is every single day!). If the letter is long, then I put everything in a manila envelope....if it's short, I send it a regular envelope. I send my husband stamped envelopes with my letter in manila envelopes......never, ever had a problem!

There is a sticky at the top of this forum titled "Other Prison GUIDES (http://www.prisontalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=208860)". There are guides for almost all of the prisons that do not have their own forum. There is a guide for Donovan. You will be able to find information on the prison, mail, visitation, contact information, etc., in that guide. Here is a link.

I want to send my husband writing supplies, he was just transferred to Donovan yesterday so I know he's in reception, right? How do I get his CDC # and what is the address out there? Does reception have a different address? Can I visit him in reception or would he have to send me the visiting form first to get approved? Someone HELP me PLEASE!!

My husband just got to reception yesterday an i know that when in reception you have to make an appointment to visit them, but what I want to know is after he gets out of reception and we get our contact visits how is it in the visit area? For example, do they let you hold hands throught out the whole visit or do they only allow a hug n kiss at the begining when they get in the visiting area? Does it depend on the officers that are there that day? I'm trying to find out as much info. before I go up there and hoping the info. will ease my nerves. It's always nerve racking the first time because you don't know what to expect an even when you follow their rules each and every time it seems like they will find the pettist sh** to delay and/or cancel the visit. One thing that I've noticed throught out the yrs. is that it's seems like every officer makes up his/her own rules, so even when we wear what we're suppose too they sometimes find something wrong with it (it's happened to me many times). If they're trying to discourge me from visiting my husband well as much as I dislike those places they will have to put up with seeing my A** every weekend!! That's my husband throught GOOD N BAD I will ALWAYS be there with him. Well thanks for all the other HELPFUL info. that all of you have posted! Hope someone can help me with my questions about Donovan!

Sorry if i'm putting this in the wrong part of the thread (which I don't undersand at all, What is the structure?) but can an inmate in reception get the quarterly packages?

What is up with the phone just ringing and ringing? Is anyone ever really going to pick up?
