I thought I would post my expierence from yesterdays parole court hearing in Etowah County. It was a fairly positive meeting. My fiance is still behind bars for violating parole on a DUI charge. The thing is he wasn't convicted of it through the court in Huntsville (where he got the charge) because Huntsville will not transport a parolee on a misdemeanor. Etowah County won't trasnport either. So, he can't be convicted of it because no one will transport him. His PO was very nice to me and told me that he didn't want to see Kevin get revoked. Well, since the Parole Board is short one member now it will take up to 6 weeks to find out if they will revoke Kevin on this. His lawyer is trying to get the case dismissed because no one will transport him. Once she does that she will send the recommendation to the PB and hopefully they will reinstate Kevin. The supervisor to the PO was very nice to me. She made sure to get all of the facts from me about Kevin's home and job plan. She also said if they do revoke him that right now they aren't revoking for very long due to the over crowding. I told her that Kevin would do much better in society working and building a future with me. She still recommended he be revoked because of the coming in contact with an arresting officer. But, the lawyer said that is to be expected but the real say in the matter will be from the PB. She feels pretty confident that she can get him reinstated. I also got to see my baby in the hearing but we couldn't hug. It was just good to see him without those horrible screens that I've been seeing him on during our visitation. I just thought this may be helpful to someone who may be facing parole violation. Whew, we waited 7 weeks for this hearing. I didn't think I could make it this long. Now, we still have one more step to go.

Thank you for the information. When my husband went through his revocation hearing, I wish I had known what to expect.

Best wishes to the both of you and I'm hoping and praying for the best.
