TCI: Taft Correctional Institution Telephones

Inmates are allowed up to 120 Collect min/mnth. They can have up to 30 numbers on their phone list and change the numbers up to 3 times a month. Phones are available during non-working hours. Each innmate will be allowed up to 300 min/mnth (400 min/mnth NOV&DEC) and can purchase prepaid time at a rate of .23 cents/min long distance and .06 cents/min local.

I just dropped my husband off at the taft ci. It was the hardest thing I've ever done in my life. Does anyone know if I'm able to send him books directly from me?

I just want to know more about Taft CI federal prison. I just took my husband there this morning. It totally sucks!! Has anyone had a husband that went there that can give me pointers?

Welcome to the boards, it is a sad situation wherever you have to take a loved one to self surrender. Definetly not one of your better days to remember. Just know that the start of this is the hardest point, after today each day brings you closer to him being home again. I see you havent been on the site long so the best advice is to do a search on Taft and see what is already posted. I know Tezgirls fellah went there about a month ago and I have seen several others that have people there. I do know it is a private contract prison, so a few things might be different than a federally run facility. There is a club for federal wives that is pretty active and I am sure they can give more info in their section so check us out. This is the place for support and information.

yes you can send paper back books from home but when they come from home and not the book store it takes a few more days to get. if you have more questions I will try to help I spent some time at taft and compared to some other places it was not the worst, try to write everyday and visit as much as posible also send lots of pictures.
