I am against the new tax plan, but i emailed the parole board today and i am coping there response below.

FYI

No one has been named. We are proceeding with two members. We will be able to operate that way unless and until one of them cannot be here on a given day, then no hearings will be heard. If the tax measure passes, plans are to increase the size of the Board to seven members and hold hearings in two separate locations simultaneously, so that twice as many paroles can be considered. We will also increase the numbers of parole officers and institute new transition programs.

Good Afternoon Mr... Segrest

Who is the new Board Member? Are hearings being delayed until someone is appointed? With the hearing being so far behind I was concerned if they would fall even further behind on hearing dates.

I was also wonder what effect the Tax increase, that we are voting on in September, would effect the Parole Board. Any opinion from you would help me in making a decision on how to vote.

So what happens if the tax plan doesn't pass? Do hearings stop completely? Seems the state is counting on a lot of "ifs" and "maybes."

I wanted to ask that to but didn't want to push to much. From what i understand out of the newspapers is that over 7000 men would be released under the 85% law. But who knows they change the rules as often as i change my shoes.
