View Full Version : back injury (Ouch)
susan/ohio 06-16-2002, 06:56 AM Hi everyone,
Just want to let you know that I have been out of commission for the past week due to a flair up of a an old back injury. It has been a painful week for me and I have not been up to sitting here at the computer.
I did get to visit with my son last Sunday, and it was a great visit, things are calming down for him or else he has quit talking about it. He started a job in the kitchen and started some classes so hopefully this will help the time go faster.
He called me yesterday and he is very homesick and you could hear his voice tremble, it nearly broke my heart. I love him so and I miss him and I am having a bad day myself and cannot hold back the tears.
I am going to try to catch up on whats new here on the forum . I hope everyone is doing well. Talk to you later.
Susan
KConnor56 06-16-2002, 08:00 AM Susan, sorry to hear about your back. Chronic back pain can be so deblitating. It's good to hear that things have calmed down for your son. By the way what is your sons first name, just currious. ----Ken
danielle 06-16-2002, 09:10 AM Susan- sorry to hear about your back! At least you're doing better and maybe you won't have anymore flare-ups. I am glad your son is keeping busy. It wll help the time pass by. Good luck to the both of you!
cepora 06-16-2002, 09:44 AM Hi Susan. I too am sorry to hear about your back. Good news about your son though....working will keep his days busy and his mind occupied on something other than being locked up, at least it will help. Hope you are feeling better.
cchilds3862 06-16-2002, 12:46 PM Hey Susan,
Glad your back is feeling better. Also, glad you were able to have a good visit with your son.
When I visit with my son, I can see it in his eyes how much he miss being with us. I can also hear in his voice the pain of not being home. I try very hard to not show the same feeling because it does hurt badly. Just hang in there, as I will too. We're glad you're back!! PEACE!
sherri13 06-16-2002, 07:20 PM SUSAN-TAKE CARE OF THAT BACK!- BACK PAIN IS THE WORST! GALD YOUR SON IS NOW WORKING AND TAKING SOME CLASSES-I THINK THAT WILL HELP TREMENDOUSLY- I KNOW YOU MISS HIM SO MUCH-JUTS MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR CALLS AND VISIST. CALLS AND VISITS ARE A POOR REPLACEMENT FOR "BEING HOME" BUT SOME ARE NOT FORTUNATE EMOUGH TO EVEN HAVE CALLS AND/OR VISITS SO WE HAVE TO BE THANKFUL FOR WHAT WE HAVE/ TAKE CARE.
RealLady2 06-17-2002, 09:20 AM Susan - sorry to hear about your back, I hope you feel better soon! I am so glad that things are going better for your son! Take care.
Budwoman 06-17-2002, 11:27 AM SUSAN:
HERE IS SOME ADVICE FROM ONE MOM TO ANOTHER.... I REALLY DO UNDERSTAND THE PAIN YOU FEEL.... I HAVE BEEN THERE...... I ALSO UNDERSTAND YOUR LONELINESS.... I HAVE DONE THAT.... BUT, LET ME CAUTION YOU, IF YOU CONTINUE TO ALLOW THE STRESS YOU NOW FEEL TO CONTINUE, YOU WILL HAVE SOME MAJOR HEALTH PROBLEMS. IF YOU DO THIS TO YOUR BODY, YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO SEE YOUR SON THROUGH THIS SITUATION....
ONE THING I HAVE FOUND IS THIS, I CANNOT ALLOW THE LITTLE THINGS TO TAKE OVER MY MIND.... I MUST STAY POSITIVE ABOUT EACH AND EVERY SITUATION. ONE THING I SINCERELY HOPE FOR YOU IS THAT YOUR SON NEVER MEETS A D.O.C. EMPLOYEE AND FALLS IN LOVE.... THEN THE PAIN WILL REALLY START...
MAY GOD BLESS AND KEEP YOU FOREVER.... TRY HARD NOT TO LET THE SMALL ISSUES TAKE OVER YOUR PHYSICAL WELL BEING...
MY LOVE
DONNA

soraya 06-18-2002, 01:59 AM sorry to hear about your back!! But at least you're doing better. I know how hard it must be to hear your sons voice tremble like that. But stay strong for him and for yourself, in the end, it all turns out well

~cheenna~ 07-17-2002, 01:19 PM Dear Susan,
Having sever back problems myself, I'm there with you girl. Hope you get all the "kinks" out and felling better soon.
There with you on your son too. Marcus is working in the kitchen also, difficult job... pours coffee. LOL The up side, he writes he is gaining weight since he has access to extra food. I miss my baby something awful, would give about anything to hear his voice. Sadly, TX doesn't allow calls.
Your both are in my daily prayers. The Lord will get "us all" through this and we'll each be better for it. This is my belief and what keeps me going each day.
