I have been trying to locate info or experiences of others on the FPC in Terre Haute and haven't been able to find anything on PTO Forums.
We are hoping our son will be sent there once he is sentenced and are trying to gather more info based on the experiences of others as far as the camp goes and for family visits etc..
Any info appreciated! Tessa

My boyfriend is in the prison camp in Terre Haute and has been since February. He doesn't like it there at all, but I think that is probably typical. Since its not me there however, my opinion of it is that he could be somewhere much worse. It didn't take him long to find a job there and there seems to be a lot of different physical activities to do: playing pool, mini golf, baseball, basketball, a track, etc. I enjoy visiting him there, you can give a hug and kiss upon arrival and departure, and there is no glass between you. Weekend visiting begins at 8:00 and goes until 3:00. There are two visiting rooms and also tables outside to sit at. I do think this place is very overcrowded, he shares a cell with 7 other guys. These are not air conditioned and windows have no screens, which causes a problem with mosquitos. You can send books and magazines, a limit of 3 each mailing, but you must write "Books" or "Magazines" on the envelope. I hope things get better for him during his stay, but like I said, it seems to me that he could have been sent somewhere much worse and farther from home, so we are grateful he is in Terre Haute

Thank-you both fo rthe replies. Unfortunately, my son will not be going to a camp, at least at this time :(. We just had sentencing and a camp was not recommended at thsi time.
Liza, Good Luck to you and hope it all works out for your boyfriend. You are lucly that he is close to you. We are not sure where our son is going and that is almost as hard as wondering what his sentence would be. Thanks again. Tessa
