I sent in the form for my son's father who is in McCalester so that Jake can visit. I filled out the form for me as i figure why do they need to check out a 5 yr. old child and would take his birth cert. with me. Problem is, he says he cant get the guards to say if i am approved or not. Anyone know how this works?

Call his caseworker. We were never notified that we were approved. Finally, my mother-in-law called my husbands caseworker and found out that we were approved. It takes like 4-6 weeks to get approved or it did us. Good Luck, CoCo

You can do one of two things.

Call his case manager and ask.

Or

Call the pen, ask for the visiting office, then ask them that you need to know if you've been approved for a visit, give them his doc # and they will tell you if you are on the list yet or not.

He should receive a notice from the visiting office that you have been approved, but it takes extra time like a week from approval for him to get that.
