My bf was sentensed yesterday for two years to TDC and is waiting to transport out of county. Today I called and they told me he is still sitting in the holding tank. He isn't even in a cell in county yet. Is this normal and how long do they normally sit in the holding tank for? I know when he was first arrested (before placing bail) he was in there for two days. But this time I figured since they had two weeks notice that he was comming, things would be different. I guess the good news is I can still visit him on Sunday even if he is still in the holding tank. My BF thought he would have to be out of there before I could visit. I think I have a long road ahead of me. I felt sick finding out he is still in that holding tank because the way my BF described it before, it sounds like they are kept in an animale cage.

I'm not sure about the length of time they can keep someone in holding. From what I thought it was 48 hours or they send them upstairs or release. I wish I could help you because this is something I've long wanted a definitive answer to.

If he's in Tarrant County, and you are able to visit, he's been placed in a cell. I'm pretty sure on that one. When they are sentenced, they are placed in the holding cell at the courthouse, then taken over to the jail. They are processed there. While being processed, he should have been able to call you - free. Then, placed in a cell, he will have to tell you his actual placement. He should have been moved to Green Bay by the end of today, if nothing else. My hubby was sentenced on a Friday and Saturday morning he was in Green Bay for visits. "holding" may just mean he's at Green Bay. That's where they go awaiting TDCJ.

Thanks. He is not in tarrant county, though. Oh well. I will have to trust the officer. I specifically asked the officer if he was in the holding tank still and he said "yes, he is and if he is still there on Sunday, he can still have visitors."

Maybe if you give us the county, someone on here would be able to assist you better with information. Seeing you were in Ft. Worth, I assumed, your loved one was in Tarrant County.

trust me. I understand why you thought that. No problem at all. Don't worry, I guess they will hold him there how ever long they want to and I have to learn that I have no control in this what so ever.

A lot of it depends on the county. The booking in process takes time anywhere...MUCH more time in big cities.
