Hi! My man is at Donovan and hopefully he will be out mid-september of this year. (1 month, give or take) I live about two hours from San Diego and since he only got 3 months I wasn't going to go and see him, but now I want to but I haven't been approved yet. Sent my app. about July 10th. Don't know much first time girlfriend of inmate but I'll help if I can!

My man got 6 months with half, he gets out in September around the first week. Are you picking up your man when he get out? are you married to your man? You know they will not let my man transfer to San B. county, and they trying to say he has to stay in San Diego county. Are you married to your man?

I AM picking him up but I am not married to him. I live in El Centro, CA. When did your man find out his exact release date? My man got 6 months flat.

Their counselor will give them their exact date when they are moved out of reception and into another yard. My man has not received his exact date and we have calculated that he should be out around Sept. 15th. Your man will be the first to know then he can tell you.

Where is El Centero? My finance just barely found out about 2 weeks back. He had went to go talk to his counselor and she told him, but he still is in Reception for some reason but he gets out on September 7th.

My man went in June 5th and he got 6 months with half time, so he only has to do 3 months.

They got to tell you when they get out. the prison will not release information like that.

but MOMO if your man went in there in May, and mine went to west valley, then chino, and got to RJD somewhere around june 20th. He just saw his counselor like 2 weeks ago. But yours should already of seen the counselor by now. Has he wrote you yet?

As of today, my man has not seen his counselor but he says he's waiting for a response still. He should be getting out on or about the 15th of Sept. He got 6 months for a parole violation and he went in on June 14. He does only three months.

El Centro is located deep down in the south about 20 min from the US-Mexico international border.

How much time did your man do in county jail? Is he in on a violation or what?

they took him on June 5th,When my man got took in he was at County for 2 days, then he got transfered to chino(where they send parole violators) for 1 month, then he went to RJD around June 20th, he's been in Rjd since June 21st at least.

My man violated his parole by absconding and not reporting to his parole officer.

dang that SUCKS!!!

can they get envelopes with stamps in reception

Forevermrsnep
08-16-2006, 12:04 AM
yah it really sucks, Yah they can receive 20 stamped envelopes, 20 sheets of loose line paper, or 20 stamps.

But they can not receive plain envelopes, or pencils and pens, you cant send them that in the mail. You have to send a quarterly package for that.

i've sent to a reception inmate at rj donovan:

20 pre-stamped envelopes from the post office
and
20 sheets of lined paper ... all together

OR

20 blank envelopes (from staples)
1 sheet of stamps
20 sheets of lined paper ...

OR

you can put your own stamps on the blank envelopes

in a 9x12 envelope ... however, these go to packages due to their size and it takes a little longer to receive. also, you can only send a package like this once a week.

i called the mail room and they confirmed. no more than 20 sheets of paper. blank paper, like computer paper is not allowed. also, i send a few sheets of lined paper and one blank envelope with a stamp that i place on it, in every letter - and never had a problem!

call 619 616 6500 8-3 m-f with cdc number--you have to make appt if still in reception

visitors start arriving before 6 am both days--they line up at the car auction curb, make note of who is in front and behind you, because you are to line up in that same order at Friends Outside, at 7:30 everyone drives up to parking, then line up. Friends Outside will start by asking for people w appts to line up at the door at about 8 am--the they pass a clip board for non appt visitors to sign. Then the passes are give out.
The appts line up in numberical order to ride the shuttle to the processing center. Contact visits start processing around 9:30 ish. Dress conservative, i always wore black crop pants and black long t shirt or loud print blouse, I suggest minimal jewelry and slip in shoes, car key only, no alarm button etc. id only, you can bring 10 pictures no larger than 5x7. dont wear green/orange or blue. Once you are processed then you get searched and go thru metal detector, then once at visiting the number on your pass ( a1,b4 etc) tells you the window you are to visit at, he will be told also. Good luck!!

Just send everything as you think plain and simple. If it doesn't get through then they will send it back to you. The first giant manila envelope that I sent with 4 or 5 letters and some envelopes, also some address labels were in there. Sent it on the 7th and got it back on the 24th. Said because no stickers allowed- the address labels. The second giant manila envelope that I sent also included 4 or 5 letters, evelopes and Address labels because I didn't know about the address labels not allowed. BUT, the second one WITH the labels made it through to him. So go figure. I even got a letter in a regular long sized envelope sent back to me that said it contained money and cash was not allowed. Well, first of all, I would have never sent cash, I don't think anybody with the least bit of common sense would have, so I opened it and supposedly there was cash in it. SO WHERE'S THE CASH AT?
