Jesus understands our pain. It occurred to me today that Jesus has been through all of my same feelings. He’s been through all my experiences. He’s not like a politician who gets off a plane and waves to the people acting as if he understands what the “common man” is going through. Jesus has been there. Jesus not only has been there, but he left the glory of heaven to come to this broken world to experience what we experience. He came to die for sinners.

Think about this, Jesus was accused and convicted of what? What was his crime? Jesus was imprisoned. He was beaten, spit upon and mocked. He was despised and hated. Why? He was crucified and humiliated. He never hurt anyone. Quite the opposite, all He did was love, comfort, encourage and heal. He showed us The Way………the way to live our lives and to treat others.

Jesus felt despair. He knew the reason that He was sent to this earth. He asked God to take this “duty” away from him. He worried so much about this that he actually sweat blood. Have you ever worried that much?

Jesus was a poor man on earth. He came from the riches of heaven to this planet to be a poor carpenter. He watched people die and felt sadness. He wept. The shortest verse in the bible was “Jesus wept”. He REALLY knows what it was like to be a human. He went through every feeling and emotion that I have felt. His hurt was even greater. His experiences and torment are more than any of us have ever experienced. The pain of rejection and the physical pain He endured is beyond our comprehension.

Jesus loved the people enough to forgive them right there in His suffering. “Forgive them Father, they know not what they do”. That’s love. Have you ever loved your enemies that much?

Jesus’ mother felt my same pain. I watched the movie “The Passion” when it came out at the theaters. I watched and I held back my tears until the part of the movie where Mary was watching Jesus carry His cross down the street and He fell. That’s when I broke down crying. Mary remembered Him as a child and falling. She ran to Him when He was a child and she ran to Him when He was a man. That was her child. She was with Him until the end.

The Word of God is true. I believe this now more than ever.

bayside,

I agree with you a 100%. When I would get upset that MY son was in prison I was convicted. My thought was "How dare I cry and feel the way I did?" My son commited a crime and he was paying for it. Jesus Christ did NO crime but paid for our sin as His Father watched. Wow what a powerful conviction. Jesus loved us that much that he took our sin! We love our children enough to stand by them. But Jesus loves them more and will take care of them. Praise God!!

So very true. I think of Mary all the time and what she went through. She was obedient to God and of the greatest faith. Can you imagine looking up at your son nailed to a cross and suffering and being taunted. When I am having a bad day, I think of Mary. Then I thank Jesus for taking on my worries and pain after going through his own. It is overwhelming to think that he is so willing to do this for me. This is how i get through a day when there is a terrible pain in my heart from missing my son.
God bless all,
Cecelia
