This is the first book I'm going to send to my friend and I want to make sure it gets to him. I'm going to order from Barnes & Noble. It there any restriciton on the packaging? Or since it's from a store and not me directly, is a box okay? Do I tell them an envelope with a postmark not a stamp? I keep calling Atwater USP and they give me different information about sending books. First paperbacks were okay to send, now the inmate needs to pick a book and I go pay for it. My friend said if it was paperback and less than 16 ounces I could send it. Can someone help me with Atwater regulations. Oh, he is in the men's camp portion of the prison.

Thanks a Bunch!!!!

I don't know about Atwater specifically but the instructions I give bookstores/publishers are these:

Please send by U.S. Postal Service only (not UPS). Please send in an envelope, not a box, and write "BOOK" on the outside.

One time, I had an order of a book too large for an envelope. I had the bookstore send it anyway in a box and write "too large for envelope" on the outside and it got through. Z.
