Hey there...no you dont have to reapply. As long as you have already been approved for visits you can go ahead and go visit your husband...the fastest way is probably taking the 99 N to the 50 E Exit Folsom BLVD. go left...turn right on Natomas go down past the police station and turn Left on Prison Road (you can not be on prison grounds prior to 6:30 am on both Sat & Sun so make sure you dont!) If you need directions like say from a hotel or something go to Mapquest.com put in directions from the address your at to 300 Prison Road in Folsom CA. HTH  ~Janelle

Hi Loving - Your welcome ... the reason I said to put in 300 Prison Road in Folsom CA into the driving directions is because the actual address you send letters to is in Represa, but Represa doesnt come up on mapquest because that city is only for the prison itself....when you put in the 300 Prison Rd in Folsom CA address you dont have to put it in a zip and the directions will come up. Yep 99 N...Merge onto the 50 East....etc.....Yes your hubby will be in Classification....I would try calling his counselor....thats what I did....see if he is able to get visits yet and also call and make sure he is not on lockdown status (my hubby just moved to the ranch so I dont know if they are on LD or not)....it usually takes like 2 weeks before they are able to have visits but it all depends....just call and find out thats your best bet :) ~Janelle
ChopsChick 08-10-2006, 10:12 PM My husband just moved from Wasco this week, to New Folsom, I was just informed today. Is this the right information for "NEW"?
Thanks for all the help.
KeviesMom 08-11-2006, 05:51 PM CSP Sacramento - "New" Folsom is on the same road (Prison Road) as "Old" Folsom. When you drive onto Prison Road you will first see a turn-off for New Folsom on the right (with a flagpole).

monkeyseesall 08-14-2006, 10:56 PM How often do you get family visits at Old Folsom?
Blueyes329 08-16-2006, 01:48 PM How often do you get family visits at Old Folsom?
Once a month
monkeyseesall 08-17-2006, 06:53 PM My husband will be transferring there sometime next year. Right now we get visits every 3mos..
dianne236 08-18-2006, 01:01 AM I get family visits at old folsom every three months. They have been pretty right on the 3 month target with us.
monkeyseesall 08-21-2006, 12:03 AM I'm confused, why is it that Blueyes gets them once a month and you only get them every 3 mos? Is your husband a level 4 or 3?
Have you heard of when they will be transferring the inmates there to other prisons?
Thalis 09-08-2006, 05:19 PM Question about Old Folsom, Why do some ladies get family visits every 30 days and some every 60-90 days? Does it have to do with the status of the inmate, job or the time they're serving? Please, can someone answer me this question??

"California's second oldest prison, Folsom primarily houses Level II and Level III inmates.* In addition, it has a minimum security unit.* At Folsom, a walled perimeter encompasses five general population cell blocks and an Administrative Segregation Unit.* This portion of the prison includes one of the state's best-known prison industries, the license plate factory."
Nanoguy 09-27-2006, 07:55 AM The changeover to SNY may NOT be happening in November, as, alot of inmates on SNY yards at other facilities (Corcoran & Avenal) are being asked for volunteers to go to Chuckawalla. So far at least 30 from those facilities have transferred and 30 more (each) are to go in the next week. Just FYI....
Also, here's some news about Folsom guards (now former guards).........http://www.sacbee.com/111/story/29254.html
