By "we" I simply mean all of us rabble-rousing bleeding-hearts with big mouths!
Cynthia Chandler and Cassandra Shaylor are two women lawyers in California, who started an organization called "Justice Now", dedicated to the health care needs of women in California prisons.

Two years ago, Rosemary Willeby, an inmate with Hep C was taken off all her meds, and forcefully given TB meds instead. She did NOT have TB, and TB meds are POISONOUS to Hep C patients.
Well, she died!
When Rosemary was arrested she had $10 worth of crack in her possession. She was sentenced to 3 years for drug possession. But in reality, she got the UNDECLARED DEATH PENALTY! Her story is at:
<www.prisons.org/regardin.htm>
Rosemary was only ONE OF FIVE women who died in Central California Women's Facility, IN TWO MONTHS! Three of those were from Hep C and liver failure.
Cythia and Cassandra filed a wrongful death lawsuit on her behalf.
On June 12, they won a QUARTER-MILLION DOLLAR settlement for her family!
I think I'll send them each a "congratulations and good work" letter.
