Sub Forum - Recidivism and Re-entry - Coming Home

What is Recidivism? “Offenders may re-offend after they return to the community. This re-offense behavior is known as recidivism.”

Use this forum to post studies, information, and discussion about the specific challenges faced with coming home. How do we assist our loved ones re-enter the community and reduce recidivism rates? This forum is dedicated to addressing these issues.

I think one of the things we might try and do is build a network of supporters...for instance when a company hires an ex-offender and things go well. Then that company should be reconized for that fact, in the community somehow maybe tell the city council then that company could be an example to other business owners. Quite possibly setting a trend. I f we all did that in our own communities it just might catch on. I don't know just a thought.
