missy1234 10-19-2005, 07:17 PM My husband is in High Desert for now. He still has not seen his counselor, so he is not real sure on what level he will end up. I do not drive in the snow, and when I am able to visit, I would really love to make a trip up. Just so I can see him, he is thinking about asking to be transfered to the Folsom or Vacaville prison. Have any of you heard what the prisons are like down there compared to High Desert?

JrGallardo6 06-19-2006, 10:33 AM I need some information on OLD Folsom State Prison...I believe in Folsom? I dont know much about it at all...if anyone has information can you please post? Just found out my hubby will be transferred there from Delano, NKSP, on Thursday. Thanks a bunch!
NeoforTee 06-21-2006, 01:04 PM Hello everyone, I am a new member and I just wanted to say thus far the information that is posted is very informative. My fiance has been in San Diego county for the past 18 months, he is now in George Bailey waiting to get transfered to Donovan. I have some questions for anyone who can give me any information. I was told that when is in the reception at Donovan only family memebers can visit. Is this true? Also I have a felony, it happened over 7 years ago and I am off of probation, it's been 2 years now. Do you think that they will approve my visits? Also my fiance wants to know if anyone has heard of the Amity program, he was convicted of possesion of drugs.
linka1 07-19-2006, 03:56 AM what about San Quention?
do you need a vivsiting form if its behind glass?
Juansgirl 07-19-2006, 01:45 PM does anyone if Tact CCF the visiting applications are the same... my hubby was sent there on monday and when i called i asked them if i was approved in NKSP does that follow me there and they said no that i had to re-apply :</... i mailed and application that my hubby send me when he was in reception but i dont know if they are the same at CCF's.. does anyone on here know this?
Mrs.cs1977 07-19-2006, 03:54 PM It is my understanding that if you are approved in one prison it should be okay for the others.
Juansgirl 07-19-2006, 04:08 PM i thought the same thing but not for CCF's , why? o dont know. myabe cause they are ran by the counties sheriffs dept..
LeBeau 07-22-2006, 10:48 AM These are questions moved from the Questionnaire thread....The Questionnaire thread is intended for our members to fill out a "form" about the visiting procedures and policies at the facility they visit, so every now and then, we need to put the general questions posted there somewhere that they'll get better exposure...Just a bit of housekeeping.
mizz_jp 07-27-2006, 10:03 PM Institution Name: DELANO COMMUNITY CORRECTIONAL FACILITY
Institution Yard: N/A
Yard Level: I,II
Appointment Required: NO - 1st come, 1st serve
Must Line up to Obtain a Number: NO - Just sign in & give ID
Parking Lot Line Up: NO
Contact or Non-Contact: Contact
Visiting Days and Hours: Saturdays & Sundays: 7:15am - 3:15pm (plus 5 major holidays) You CAN visit BOTH days!!
Length of Visit Allowed: The whole time unless it gets crowded, then its first in, first out.
* Special Notes: Visiting at DCCF is very laid-back! You go in, sign-in and give ID. You go thru a metal detector and right into the visiting room - very small 49 max capacity. You give your ID to the guard in the visiting room, they pull the inmates visiting file & verify your ID w/ your visitation form. They call for your inmate who comes within 10-15 minutes. You can bring in money - $20- for food/drinks for vending machines ( they didn't check my money, I had $20+). There is Cable TV, you can play cards/dominoes/draw - just ask the guard for them. The guard will take your picture when you want/wherever you want - there are various murals on the walls (inmate has to buy $2.00 foto ticket before hand). You can go the bathroom whenever you need to (feminine products available in restroom), you don;t need to ask, just get up and buzz door to exit. You're supposed to sit across from the inmate but noticed not everyone was doing that & guards didn't seem to mind. You can't wear BLUE/LIGHT BLUE jeans/pants/shirts - those are inmate colors. Overall, the staff is VERY nice & laid-back.
That's nice to know. Hopefully that's where my baby is goin?
