My son is in Atlanta's satellite camp next to the prison. I have been calling and calling all day and get disconnected after about 30 seconds every time. The only number I can find to call is (404) 635-5100. I finally called the regional office and the guy said it's very hard to get through but I've been calling all day! Not to mention out of state and charges every time!!! I wonder if anyone knows of any other way to contact this camp. I would like a number to call while I am on the road driving there to visit to make sure nothing happens with visitation since it's a 9 hour drive. And to be assured that his visiting list is correct and have no problems there. This is awful...what do families do in an emergency like death in family when you can't even get through to these places? Thanks for any information!

In an emergency always ask for the Chaplain, but you must get through first.

Look up the facility at www.bop.gov and send an email stating your problem and ask if there is another number.

Thank you for your quick reply. I finally got through to a real person shortly after 5:00 pm Eastern time. I guess they just can't handle the volume of calls but it's frustrating to get disconnected every time you call! The guy I spoke with gave me the info I wanted and said they are there 24/7 to answer the phones. So for anyone else just be advised that you'll have better luck anytime other than 9 to 5 pm. The man I spoke with was very kind and I could hear dozens of other people in the background answering phones so just be aware that it must be a very busy place. This number is for USP Atlanta and the satellite camp. When you get the recording push 9 for the directory and then push 5 for the camp. Or just push 0 at the beginning for the operator. I plan to visit (if they don't have lockdown again!) on the 15th and 16th so I'll post anything that may help someone else who has a loved one there. Thanks to all of you for your information and just being there! :)
